Nah.

I have such a huge backlog of games (actual good ones too) that I want to play that I'm in no rush for a new console. For me I don't think it would have mattered what they announced because I doubt it would have changed my mind. I'm not looking at a new console for another 2-3 years.

I can see the high concept notion of a world going on on the server, but then that's an MMO. Peter Molyneux wants a world that goes on when you're not playing, but if he wasn't a blowhard he would realise that you do this by just counting how long it's been since the player last played and simulating the changes at startup. All the stuff about the cloud being useless for realtime stuff is as I thought.

The other thing is that cloud processing stuff is pretty expensive on a massive scale. Obviously if MS is managing the cloud itself then it's their own course, but that's still a lot of power and infrastructure they have to keep running that doesn't necessarily add a lot of value. Maybe they're just forseeing matchmaking servers being ran on these?

According to Microsoft, doesn't matter how much complaining is being done online about their console since they know a significant chunk will still buy it at some point.

All the focus on the tv stuff during the Xbox One reveal was specifically targeted to those who only buy one console per generation and those who ended up using for current gen console more as a media device than gaming console (ex. Netflix).
