According to Ubisoft, ZombiU is now officially considered as a "failure" and they've scrapped plans on a potential sequel. Sales of that game are now being blamed to why Rayman Legends for the Wii U was both delayed and lost exclusivity.

According to Miyamoto, Nintendo ended up completely misjudging the size needed for their development teams in regards to HD game development. He stated in order to just do normal development, Nintendo needs roughly double of what they current have for manpower and rework their entire development cycle which favors a significant amount of time polishing a game. He also hinted Nintendo is working on an engine for the Wii U whose goal is to help speed up development for everyone working on Wii U games.

This would explain why Nintendo's current restructuring plans require a little over a year to finish due to the massive expansion needed by the company.
