![]() The WWE could've done a better job at hyping up the first ever unified tag team champions. The Colons were exceptionally decent in the ring. ![]() Paul London and Brian Kendrick were amazing as a tag team. Although they had a great reign as tag team champions on Smackdown! , they never made it big after being drafted to RAW. ![]() The Brian Kendrick was amazing. He had so much potential ![]() ![]() John Morrison was super hot after his face turn. He had an outstanding ladder match with Sheamus and a stupendous WWE title match against former protege - The Miz. It's a bummer that the WWE never capitalized on his last return. He clearly lacked the ability to cut promos and did some improv in LA. Not sure what happened to that. Nice belly button. |

The biggest blown opportunity WWE has had in recent years, maybe ever is the way they failed to capitalize on the CM Punk shoot angle in 2011. They had it done perfectly and it was all ruined when they brought him back to RAW 8 days after winning the title at MITB.
They should have left him off of TV for a few months with Vince coming out and begging him to come back with the belt and do business with WWE with Punk not showing up, maybe doing the occasional "via satellite" feed maybe with Vince standing in the ring and Punk appearing on the titantron from Vince's office with Punk sitting in Vince's chair with his feet on the desk with the title in full view basically Punk dangling the carrot. Then bring Punk back at Survivor Series. Point is, Punk should still be champion right now and surpassing a historic 2 year title reign as a monster heel and with Paul Heyman as his manager. Punk could have been the second coming of Stone Cold Steve Austin. He is that talented. They just dropped the ball huge with him. They still are really. |

While I think Punk is one of the best heels in a long time, he is lacking as a face. He's not bad, but he doesn't have that electricity that it takes to be THE guy. Guys like the rock, hogan, and Austin.
He's still very good. But not "the next Austin" like I've seen so many people saying. |

They interacted a few times in between then and 2009, but when Carlito came out randomly during a John Cena promo after Sheamus had won the Breakout Battle Royal to challenge him at the TLC PPV, I really enjoyed the idea. Carlito just didn't like Cena and wanted to see him lose. Carlito would never be the biggest threat to Cena, but the rivalry would be constantly there. Perhaps if Edge needed help against Cena sometime in the future, Carlito would have been right there to help him out. |

I do think that the CM Punk stuff in 2011 could have been handled better. I always thought the WWE should have had Rey Mysterio win the WWE Title tournament like he did, but present him with a new title belt. CM Punk would upload shoot videos onto YouTube mocking Rey's "fake title." Maybe Punk would even go around to certain independent promotions and "defend" the WWE Title against his friends and guys he wanted to work with. He could create his own website, which would be owned by WWE of course, where he would record his activities and title defenses.
SummerSlam would have featured Rey Mysterio defending the WWE Title against John Cena and Triple H "calling out CM Punk." Punk would have forced Vince McMahon to lose control of the WWE, and Triple H would be distraught but the new boss. He would demand Punk show up for a fight and bring his WWE Title if he were a man. Punk would show up through the crowd with Colt Cabana, Ace Steel, Domino, Luke Gallows and whoever else Punk is real life friends with outside the WWE. He would jump the barricade and get into a brawl with Triple H after him, Vince and Stephanie before a selection of "stooges" would run out and brawl with Punk's "Saints." The rebels are beaten by numbers and Triple H would demand to know where the WWE Title is. Punk would be held by a team of heel WWE Superstars and spit into Triple H's face. The Game would give Punk the Pedigree and then bring out the sledgehammer, but Stephanie would come out, being the smart businesswoman she is, and say that they cannot do this to Punk since he's not under contract. Or if the brawl is too much, just have Punk show up and mock Triple H through the crowd and explain that he's not stupid enough to bring his WWE Championship into Triple H's house. That feud could have been the new Austin/McMahon. |

Christian and Matt Hardy in 2005 were both pretty frustrating. I'm not sure what they should have done with either, exactly, but trying to squash their heat instead of capitalize on it? That was just annoying to watch as a fan.

Carlito was a whiny cunt. Fuck him.
I seriously can't stand all these guy who bitch, piss, and moan about their push or their spot and then wonder why WWE won't put time and energy into them. |

Didn't that get CM Punk to where he is right now? The better argument would be that Carlito wasn't motivated enough and didn't care to put on a good match. He isn't as passionate about the business as Primo is.

You have a point. But I do wonder how much the ball is dropped so these guys get annoyed and how much it is the ball not being rolled because they are annoying. Either way, complaining even at the end isn't going to do you any favors. Carlito was fucking awesome though.

You pretty much just explained the difference between the two. Yeah Punk was frustrated and complained, but he was also ridiculously passionate, and motivated to be the best. He didn't get the big push just on bitching alone.

Return of the NWO, Jericho's first win over Triple H, Foley's first return from retirement.
The original NWO formula was awesome, because they turned boring baby-faces into fun heels. The return was silly and they didn't turn any mid-card guys as I recall which screwed things up. What should have happened was as soon as they got back they enlisted Big Show, renamed him Giant, recruited Triple H and Shawn Michaels and 5-6 mid-card guys. Nash, Hall, Hogan, Giant, Triple H, Michaels, Edge, Christian + a host of bad bad guys would have been really fun and I think it's what we all expected. Not what we got though. It would have been much cooler for Austin, Rock and Angle to be the underdogs in a battle for the soul of the WWE. Jericho's win over Triple H was fantastic and everybody loved it, right up until the sloppy writing ending where the match was overturned. Booo. Should have resulted in an epic feud with Triple H on the hunt for the title. Instead...nothing that I recall. Foley's Wrestlemania return was pretty lackluster as a match, and made his subsequent returns a little less special. He should have been the ref and made a return somewhere down the line. Vince screwed it up and gave us a cluster-fuck of a main-event instead. Hated that match with a passion. |

Buff Bagwell not turning face when he came back from his neck injury.
WWE putting Christian in a world title match in Summerslam, thus costing the company a huge buyrate because nobody gives a fuck about him. Even worse when they could have had RVD face Del Rio. Also, Adam West is a jobber. |

In my opinion, they dropped the ball with Mark Henry recently after the retirement swerve. Just another big guy to feed to Cena.

Yeah, it seems such a shame that all that came out of that promo was a blow off match on ppv. Shit, even Ryback had a longer program with Cena.

Somewhat recent but I would say Matt Morgan was a huge missed opportunity for TNA (no pun intended) It seems like TNA never committed to making Morgan a major star. They'd start the push like when he stole Hogan's robes and was cutting promos about how great he was, but they they'd just stop and have him lose to Sting.

In 2000 I would've loved to see X-Pac and Steve Blackman go at it for the Hardcore title. They have a similar style and I always saw the belt going on X-Pac and it would give him some respect.

Let's say I'm a booker and I want to have a match between 2 guys with a similar style just to fill out the undercard. I'm not saying it would be some big main event thing, I just thought back in high school "wouldn't it be cool if X-Pac was hardcore champ." I know some people here may not like X-Pac, but I come from the Paul Heyman school of bringing out a guy's strengths instead of their weaknesses.

Also, Jericho and Benoit for the World title should've happened in 2003-04. They had great matches for the IC belt and think about the rivalries that started out for the IC belt, then became World title feuds (Rock vs. Austin, Rock vs. HHH, HBK vs Bret Hart). Also, around that time, Kane should've had at least one title reign. One day in 98 doesn't cut it.

Hey, you're not telling us something we don't already know. Yeah, the Blue Foam Gladiator "start from the bottom" treatment for Ron was complete shit. As for Taz, all I have to say is that Champion vs. Champion match with HHH right after Taz won the ECW championship from Mike Awesome "on his night off" could have been so much bigger... and it seemed like it was going to be given how much the announcers were putting the entire situation over. Instead, it was just another throwaway win for Hunter and never mentioned again. |

Maven. Guy was awesome in the ring, and even got a WHC match on RAW in Nov. 2004, albeit only because he was GM for a night and gave it to himself, but I still wonder what could've been had they not given up on him.
