I like the defense, the Line backers are friggin sick. What do you think is the most glaring need? I'm thinking that Cornerback is a must have right now. Depth at pass rusher seems like a priority. Of course the elephant in the room is the health of QB18. If/when he can't do it anymore, what is the contingency? Should Denver gamble and get a qb to groom? Is Brock the QBOTF? there are some questions that Elway has to answer, and in short order. |

I agree with you though the LB's are pretty good, but the secondary has been garbage for years save like the last 3 or 4 games before last night. It's like Chris Harris and then some bodies back there. The pass rush needs to be addressed, they managed to do ok this season but it is far from a championship caliber defense. Plus it would be nice if they ever covered the middle of the field. Check the Dallas and first NE games. The TE is practically wide open every time. Romo and Whitten looked like Aikman and Novacek in that game and that comes down to coaching, which lets just say I've never been a big John Fox fan. The biggest need on that team on offense is a running game. I grew up watching the Joe Gibbs Redskins with the Hogs so to me that's what a football team should look like and that's what Seattle did last night and what the Giants did to beat the pass happy Patriots. Denver seems to run the same draw play every time they attempt to run the ball and they don't have anyone capable of doing anything more than 2 or 3 yards a gain when they play a solid defense. And that starts at the line too. They are great at pass blocking, but they are not that good as run blockers. They are so one dimensional as an offense it's sad. No team has a chance to win when they put that much pressure on one player to win no matter how good he is. Think about the Pats when did they won, when they had guys to help Brady. He didn't have to do it all. They might not have been stars, but they were solid contributors. The year the Colts won, they ran the ball 40 times and passed 38. Last night 14 carries to 49 passes. Seattle 29 carries to 26 passes. Like someone said they need someone that can get separation from the DB's. Welker and Decker and great slot receivers, but Wes is starting to get up there in age and D Thomas, aside from trying to turn a simple needed 7 yards into 40 and getting only 4 because of that, could be that guy but he will need some help because he's the only one able to do that. |
