I imagine this is going to make a lot of money and make Spiderman 2 look even worse by comparison.

Doubt they're even going through with the next spider man films because of how much money they lost.

Umm, lost money?

First one made around 750 mill and the second made almost 600 so far.

Also, even though GoG looks pretty sweet I doubt it will make that much money. Those characters just ain't that popular among people that ain't hardcore comic book fans.

Iron Man wasn't that popular outside of hardcore comic fans either.

Not that popular doesn't mean completely unknown, which GoG is to most people.

That being said, I can't wait to see this movie, even though I don't give a single fuck about them in the comic books.

Production budget was 255 million. Marketing was about 190 million. Critically, this was lower rated than Spiderman 3, although as of right now more audience goers enjoyed it. Even if they manage 600 million worldwide, which they haven't yet it'll be hard to call this one a win. The Franchise is certainly in danger, which is fine by me since I was bored to tears by the Amazing Spider-Man and had no interest in watching this film based on the trailers alone.

As for GOG, I dunno, I don't know the characters, but based on the trailer I want to see this movie. Will probably take my family too. It looks like a fun space-fantasy movie with well-developed characters and humor. I want to watch it. I bet it does well.
