Do seriously expect WWE to have Rollins and HHH reveal some convoluted master plan? Why is selling out for power and money not good enough motivation? Why keep fighting a war you can't win? Booker T's reasoning on the post show was perfect enough for the story.

Because selling out for power and money is fucking BORING. That is, quite easily, the laziest and least interesting way to have a character shift.

And like I said in the 'cast, it runs completely counter to what we've seen of Rollins' character-- "Hey, you know all that stuff I said and did to show that I was the guy always willing to put my life on the line for the group and our cause? Turns out all that was a lie and I was just a greedy asshole all along. Though really if all I was looking for was money and power I wouldn't have left the Authority in the first fucking place but hey, who needs sensible motivations?"

And no, joining Evolution doesn't 'make sense' if you've already beaten them to the point where one of them walks out. WWE's nebulously complicated authority-figure structure means that Trips wouldn't be able to just fire the Shield without Vince or the Board of Directors or whoever the fuck coming out to overturn it (and if he could just can them, he would've done it as soon as they turned on him). And they've annihilated every goon squad Trips has thrown at them. So again, why jump ship right when you're winning to be the lowest man on a totem pole that you're already chopping down?

Yes, I expect the biggest wrestling company in the country to have a writing staff.

Power and money isn't good enough motivation because it runs against Rollins' character.

They did win the war.

Booker T hasn't been interesting since he split from Goldust and post-shows don't matter.
