Would the WWE Network Picking up "TNA/Impact!" be a good business move?
They might get a whole new bump of subscribers in a critical time when their first 6 month deal is close to coming up, they will also have a second set of pay-per-views to air, which could retain their current subscribers who are on the fence.

LOL
You really think there are people who would buy the WWE network just to see TNA? If anything those hardcore fans arleady have the network. And the WWE would never put a rival promotion on their network. Vince would need and want full control over the product. And also, LOL - That TNA would be a bump to the network. Mutie thread. |

Yeah, Vince isn't gonna pay to have TNA on his Network, and if Vince isn't paying, then there's no upside for TNA.

"Hey im going to spend X amount of money to produce a show that will get the same ratings as the stuff im already paying to make (NXT)".
Vince Killed off WCW, the biggest company ever besides WWF, you think he would give two shits about a redneck promotion full of his rejects? |

In terms of a business move, adding more wrestling to a network that they are struggling to sell to wrestling fans with a (albeit small) pre-existing fan base and recongiseable names, it would be smart.
So there is no way in hell they will do it. |

Why would he pay for it, if they go bust he buys up the name, and more importantly the video library, for a pittance and is then free to do what he wants with it.

Vince wanted to keep WCW going under his control but could not due to not being able to get a time slot for programing. I would think Vince would do the same for TNA also if it on his network it means it won't be on another network (like WGN or FX) and have access the their video library. I'm sure out of the 1M fans that watch TNA a good percentage of them would probably buy the network to continue watching the product.

He was going to make Smackdown a WCW show. But he didnt see the money in it and killed that plan. TNA is a non factor. WWE is going to go on with or without them and there is no money to be made with TNA on the WWE network. |

Because putting another wrestling show on the network will make more fans by the network and make the company more money.
And before the response 'people won't pay $10 to watch TNA' I agree, but people who aren't paying at the moment may be more likely to if they get another new show as well. Like I said, not arguing it is going to happen though. In fact quite the opposite. I think the buying of the video library is probable though. |

I feel this would be a good shot to get more subscribers on his network, TNA isn't the best company in the world but it does have some die hard fans, (See TLP) I feel if WWE offered TNA a "ECW on TNN" type deal they would no doubt profit from the deal |

It might boost subscribers slightly but it would be odd for WWE to advertise another promotion they had no control over the production of.
Everything on the Network that is live or new is an in-house program. |

I look at it this way... these are the true dark days of TNA. They don't get the fan fair they use to and their biggest stars are pretty much gone or one foot out the door. ROH at this point has more value.
As I said in another post, I hope they make a comeback because there are alot of jobs on the line, but otherwise unless something REALLY changes, they don't have much value left. |

You are right that they could just produce more content themselves, but historically WWE are pretty bad at that. NXT is an exception, where it does work, but normally anything other than RAW or Smackdown is essentially just another show for jobbers, a glorified re-packed Heat. And you would have to question the capacity of the WWE to put on another show at the moment, with budget cuts already happening. There is also business sense in paying other people to produce your show - you are just paying for the show. If it fails, your loses are far less. |

I think something like WGN that is trying to build their brand with programs like Salem could be a wise choice for TNA.
FX would be great but I don't see it happening tbh. |

Only way this would happen is if Vince bought the company and thus got creative control over it.
Which isn't going to happen. |

And these are the most hardcore fans. yet based purely on your made up logic 250K new subscribers would sign up for WWE network. Free PPV cant get them to sign up, but watching sub par cable based wrestling will? you are a moron |

Paying 10 dollars for weekly programming and spending 30 dollars to go to a house show are 2 totally different things moron.
A free demo and new programming content are 2 totally different things moron. I pulled that 25% out of my ass just the same as you pulled the 10% out of yours. Believe it or not there are some (crazy) people who prefer TNA over WWE. |

WWE fans spend 30+ dollars to go to house shows, and they pay 10 dollars a month for network access.
TNA white trash fans dont spend money on shows, and wont on the network access. And lets not pretend it costs more than 12 dollars to go to a TNA BaseBrawl Event. and if you prefer TNA to the WWE I can only assume you prefer giant cocks in at least 2 of the holes in your body at once. |

Spike pay TNA money because people watch TNA and adverts, so advertisers pay Spike money.
WWE would pay TNA money so that people would clog up the Network bandwidth watching shitty TNA shows and practically no-one new would subscribe. |

There are some that watch TNA to boycott WWE, so I don't know. The allure of being bought out by WWE isn't there, TNA doesn't touch WCW.
If Cena pulled a Hogan and went to TNA then we'd see the vicious cycle repeat |

I'd say no to buying the promotion considering they already have NXT as their source of alternative WWE-type wrestling.
TNA's tape library would be a better purchase mostly because the Network benefits by having more stuff and the WWE already owns the bulk of wrestling's taped history. |

Would love it if WWE bought TNA's library. Their booking may be a joke, but they've always had a good roster, and there have been a lot of great matches throughout the years.
Wouldn't mind seeing that on the network at all. I think more people would watch TNA matches than old WCCW matches. |

There is only a handful of talent that I see the WWE really being interested in.
* Austin Aries might get a shot even though the WWE passed on him at least once before. He's great in the ring and charismatic on the microphone. I could see him randomly attacking Daniel Bryan one week and getting everyone's panties wet. * The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz might get shots again. The Hardys have been spotty employees in the past, but their merchandise money might get them a brief run. Jeff Hardy left the company on his own terms and was a big star for them at the time. I can see Bubba Ray and D-Von getting a New Age Outlaws-like run before they become producers/trainers for the company. * Kenny King might get a shot in developmental. The company has passed on him for a while, but he's shown himself to be a good worker and he's got a personality. Still, they might just pass because he doesn't add enough "must see" for the WWE. * Beer Money might get a shot. They are good workers and have an interesting dynamic. I could see them adding a lot to the tag team division actually. * Derrick Bateman might get another shot, if the reason he was released wasn't for an attitude or something like that. * Kurt Angle might get a Legends Deal or something. If he can still wrestle, they might try and make some money out of him. * Magnus might get a developmental deal. The guy is young and has developed nicely. He could become useful to the WWE. * Brittany might get a shot as a female talent down in NXT. * Oh, and Bobby Lashley, if he swallows his pride. There is money to be made in a guy his size returning. * MVP if he is willing to play a mid-card role. But the roster is pretty stacked, so I can see the company just passing on him. |
