I do NOT have HoW yet so I can't do the Strike, Prison, Osiris, or story missions. But it seems the gear, new power levels, and bounties are available. As well as the Reef. I just put a bunch of my exotics on 365 ATK earlier. Don't have any Sidearms yet.

We should get together and do stuff. Stuff I can do at least.

The bounties are only available once. I'm guessing by the progression of things, they reset once a week like Nightfalls instead of daily like normal bounties. I guess the daily reset of the targets was only for the week long lead-in to the DLC (which I didn't know about. Should have been Queen Wrath 3 by now, but I didn't play most of last week).

Honestly, the campaign was a bit underwhelming. I couldn't really enjoy/savor it because you HAVE to finish it to get the Prison of Elders to become available, so I went barrelling through it. Would have been nice to run a few more missions after that. Also, I was initially exited about the prospect of buying weapon or armor upgrades instead of grinding and hoping they drop... but just like Eris Morn, you EXCHANGE what you have with the speaker, and still need to grind and hope. I want purchaces, not alchemy.

That said, I like PoE. It's kind of like Reach's Firefight. And the fact that they don't go "No fireteam? Sorry sucker!" My initial runthrough was with two randoms who seem like they've been on it from jump. I luckily got a treasure key from a re-loot (thanks, Dark One!) and picked up a 3rd Thunderlord... but this one is post DLC, so it is already at base 3 atk higher than the other two I got from Xur a couple weeks ago at max.

Re rolling weapons is amazing, and with that, I'm glad they added the ability to lock crap you don't want to sell. Got a legendary SR that almost rivals my MIDA.

And again, I dig the sidearm... its like a mini pulse rifle with faster rate of fire of single shots instead of charging a burst cluster. Can't wait to see what others eventually appear in the wild besides the Vestian Dynasty.

As for stuff you can do, I haven't gotten a proper raid on like ever finished Crota once (and got the pulse rifle) and never ran Vault of Glass. My crew is too into instant gratification to put in any grind time beyond when the game dropped (and I didn't even have a One yet, which is another detriment to me, because they have "moved on" and by comparison, its still "new" to me. They got kinda geeked about the prospect of the Trials, but if it's like the PoE, they have to finish the missions first. I hope not.
