Achievement list has come out for the 360 version, it's virtually the same as 2k15. I'd expect the next gen versions will have My Career ones thrown in too.

Visual Concepts gave an official statement why none of the Four Horsewomen are included in the game.

They claim its due to them not having the time needed nor a workable schedule to get them all scanned and modeled into the game.

Previously 2K Games gave a statement that's been speculated to imply the WWE might have gotten involved with the decision based on the tone of the announcement.

The Hall of Fame showcase pack is a pretty great idea, actually. I've always thought that they should put the HOF class for each year into that year's game.

One the devs had said that the final list of who is in the game actually goes all the way up to Vince for final sign-off, like pretty much everything else in the company. Given the numerous reports of Vince not giving much of a shit about the Divas Revolution I totally could have seen him just saying to leave them out because he feels nobody gives a shit about women's wrestling and therefore it's not worth the time/expense of creating them for the game.

If only he were forced to read IGN's message boards, where seemingly everybody on there has an absolute hard-on for having as many divas in the game as possible. They alone would have gotten a Divas Revolution DLC pack enough buys to warrant doing it.

Also apparently RVD is on WWE's shitlist at the moment because he routinely bashes creative on Twitter and in interviews. Guess that explains why he was one of the few 2k15 wrestlers to not be ported over aside from the obvious ones who left on bad terms.

Seems weird, especially given that 3 out of the 4 "Horsewomen" were recently in NXT that Triple H wouldn't get at least SOME kind of say in the matter...wish that was the case and that he pulled rank on Vince just this one time.

What is crazy is that just like last year they snow us with graphics, entrances, and all the stuff they think is good, but within WEEKS of release. They drop the BS on what the game can't do.

I can get the fact that you have to develop old company stuff to adapt to 2K. But if you are going to remove something from the game, replace it with something comparable or better that what it was.

I would stick to 2K14, but they are shutting the servers down. 2K15 better be the Cat's Pajamas or I will sell that thing back to GameStop and buy Sunset Overdrive.

WWE 2K16 trailer uses journo's likeness, and he's not happy about it

What was otherwise a run-of-the-mill trailer showing off WWE 2K16's character creation toolkit dissolved into a mini media-scandal this afternoon when one of the wrestlers it featured resembled the alter-ego of a well known games writer.


"Dr. Tracksuit" — who appears at 1:24 of the above video — is the persona of Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann when he wrestles in the annual "PAX Wrestling" events using WrestleMania 2000 on Nintendo 64 (full disclosure: Polygon writer Samit Sarkar has participated in this event.) This morning, 2K Sports put out a trailer touting the game's creation suite (above), and late in the clip a wrestler looking very much like Dr. Tracksuit was shown making his entrance.


Here's is Gerstmann as Dr. Tracksuit, cutting a promo for the 2014 "PAX Rumble":

In wrestling parlance, this foofaraw appears to be a "shoot" (i.e. legit) and not a "work" (scripted for storyline purposes).


After Gerstmann complained on social media, 2K Sports re-rolled a trailer to games media with the questionable footage stripped out. Polygon reached out to a 2K Sports representative for an explanation of what happened; he declined further comment.


Clearly, this has all the makings of the next great feud in professional wrestling.


The kerfuffle diverts attention away from the return of some key creation tools that had gone missing last year, disappointing many longtime fans. Most notably, Create-a-Diva returns (the only female wrestlers in WWE 2K15 were ones supplied by the game itself). Custom arenas, superstar entrances and championship belts also feature in the toolkit, and "for the first time" there's something called "Create-a-Show," though it's not entirely clear how different that is from the old matchmaking/storyline tools in prior editions.


Anyway, WWE 2K16 launches Oct. 27 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
