Got it. I have read through a few guides that went for speed + quantity > heroics due to lower drops.

However, I will take a higher frequency of purples over blues. I know there are some 300 level blues, but still, seems purple would be better.

We should run together sometime if you want. Randoms haven't been bad so far, but I haven't jumped into heroics to see the derp in action yet.

Heroics definitely worth it. 1 run netted 4 legendary engrams including a badass auto rifle.

THey should institute some sorta "firing range" @ the Tower. Or something where you can "test builds" or newly acquired guns or something.

Lots of people been asking for a firing range at the tower.

We can run some Crucible or Strikes sometime. I play with a guy who's also legit as I'm pretty sick of randoms. Right now I'm gonna complete my second exotic sword quest and I will be needing to complete the Raid for quest purposes.

And there's still a shader from Prison of Elders that I'm dying for.

Cool. Not participated in very much PvP, one match to be exact.

Ran 2 more heroics, the derp factor is quite high. On the Undying Mind strike I had 16 deaths and 9 resurrections.

Not read very many strategies for anything really, so I'm flying blind..... kinda like it that way though. Tends to lead to non-cookie cutter gameplay which is always fun.

Stay back near cover and handle mooks if your light level is low. Make sure every shot is a head shot (or belly for some vex). There's no single strat for the hard strikes, really just don't take any risk you don't need to take and stay close to your team.

Make sure you visit Banshee and test his guns. He's very generous when it comes to xp.

Over time you'll learn where the safe spots are. Then you can start running nightfalls solo.

Nightfalls are just strikes. But harder than those in the heroic strike playlists. In the past, you had to run them flawless. Can't die, with the exception to Sunsinger warlocks. But now with Taken King, Bungie eased up and if you die, you aren't booted back to orbit and gotta start again. You're back at the last checkpoint.


The rewards are awesome, too. Get a chance for an exotic to drop, maybe even a legendary or 2. I'm hearing with today's update a lot of players got good gear to drop today. 290 players getting gear up in the 300s.


And finally, you can only run it once for the, and you get the XP boost for the rest of the week.

Is there reason to go beyond level 3 in rep faction? I was doing FWC and can now get anything they offer.

Yeah. Best to pick a faction and stick with it.


But I think at rep level 25 the faction sends you a quest and you get an exotic character item at the end of it.

Stick with Future War Cult for now, Drave. They're heavily involved in the quest to get the No Time To Explain exotic pulse rifle. That quest line got discovered with yesterday's reset/update.

Pretty interesting and lengthy read on how badly Bungie ended up botching the story and Year One stuff for the game. Basically a lot of internal arguments and the need to rush the game meant the story was an afterthought and only started fixing it after getting a lot of complaints.

Also how those problems along with technical issues ended up changing their long term plans when it came to doing expansion packs vs new releases (ex. Destiny 2). Taken King was actually meant to be in the original main game before it got gutted due to those reasons.

Kotaku had a good write up on this. It's almost admirable what was launched with them scrapping everything. I would love to see/hear what exactly was the original story.

Very good for groups. And if you ever find a gun that explodes dudes on head shot kills keep it. It is very useful. Especially on sniper rifles.

Missed out on some House of Wolves missions apparently. Very fun and interesting (lore wise).

They have done an amazing job at creating a universe. I find myself lost in it from time to time, just shooting shit to shoot shit.

LOVE the randomness of patrols. Light 292 and climbing Not bad for a noob to the game.

For those that had loot issues with the special Iron Banner event last week, Bungie announced a "nasty bug" was the reason why payouts for the event were low or messed up.

So I get my PS4 back and I try to get started on the No Time to Explain quest. And only discover you can only start it once the mission is the designated daily hard mission. Can't just do hard mode on the mission. Kinda sucks since I gotta wait for it to come back in the rotation again.

*sigh* Might as well wait until Tuesday to dive back in since it's a fresh week.

Bungie celebrating Halloween with both a new set of microtransactions and a few freebies for the game. Price-wise, highest is around $10 and lowest amount of silver purchasable is around $5.

In addition to "Treasures of the Lost" chests for 200 Silver each, you can pick up the Legendary emotes "Zombie Dance" (700), "Monster Dance" (500), "and "Boo" (300). Chests include random legendary cosmetic masks, and other random small cosmetic items like Jackolytes. I also found a Jackolyte pickup in the Hard Mode King's Fall raid. Thankfully there's also a free version of the event, where you can trick or treat around the Tower for menial items.

You can also grab a quest from Eva Levante in the Tower (she sells emblems and shaders near The Speaker) to get a few of the items in the treasure boxes, but if you want more Legendary bags, you'll have to buy them.

Scored me an Oryx helmet. But that catch is you gotta track down certain helmets to complete the quests.

You'll get some missions. But the missions require you to be wearing certain masks. That's gonna be the tedious part is finding them. Gotta pray you're on RNGesus' good side.

Although I did grab the "Boo" emote. Probably the only one I'll ever buy.

Challenge modes for an upcoming raid(s) were revealed to be time gated events along with certain Fragment items needed for leveling up.
