no, you can give him an "opening shine" without taking a beating/coming off your feet/selling so much. The second your shoulders hit the floor like a minute in, I lost all interest in the match. The other guy didn't help at all, a wrist lock was the very first thing he did but you need to fuck that straight off, giving him a certain amount of shine doesn't mean you HAVE to sell any old shit that he throws at you, just do what makes sense. If he winds up looking like shit because of it, that's his fault for not knowing how to work that kind of match properly. You have to protect yourself because from WWE down to the aforementioned flea market shows, guys will take advantage whether they mean to or not, whether they're trying to make themselves look good at whatever cost to you or whether they're simply too fucking clueless to know what to do and when to do it. You have to look out for you and if you do you your part right and the other guy does his right, everything will come together easily. If it doesn't come together but you've at least done your part and protected yourself, the only person that stands to look like shit is the other guy and they will only have themselves to blame.
