Iowa's own Frank Gotch passed away today in 1917.

Frank transcended wrestling. He was a huge sports hero and icon of his era.

Hollywood even wanted Gotch. Frank was a simple farm boy from Humboldt who ended up back there to spend his final years.

Yeah, I'd heard where one half of The Vaudevillians, Simon Gotch (NXT) got his last name based on Frank. I have no idea how profightdb could leave him off their list. Perhaps I'll e-mail them and see how or if they respond.
