Mars track is pretty fun. Came close to 1st a few times. Venus, not so much. That one's the harder of the 2.

The kicker is the subclass boosts which I'm half and half about. It reminds me of the class shortcuts Battlefield had. You unlock a class' gun set but you still have to unlock the mods thru play.

On one hand somebody wanting a shortcut to their subclass actions doesn't do anything against me really. On the other hand I sometimes think what is the worth of a game if you're offering or buying your way to certain goals. I like to think the experience was kinda the point.

I'm a fan of content unlock keys for a game's sandbox items; like WWE or Naruto games. I want toys for more multiplayer options and I don't have the patience to play Naruto's story or WWE Wrestlemania whatever. I don't mind since the value of the game is the multiplayer and I wanna enhance that asap.

I guess it comes down to what you value about a game. Maybe. But one thing's for sure; Bungie is edging ever so close to something that will interfere with Legendary Marks and Legendary/Exotic drops - which is when things will go p2w and things may go to shit.

But if I may play Akuma's advocate - how about we look at Xur. Setting aside that Marks are earned thru play, he offers you exotics you would otherwise need to do quests for. Honestly I mostly wait for him to sell something I want. There's some self impressed kids in the official forums that actually look down on people who Xur their way to exotics and skip quests. I find this analogous to the p2w model. Looking at that comparison... I don't care if somebody buys or quests for an exotic. End of the day, nobody hows how you got what. So I'm contemplating a scenario where Bungie does offer purple and yellow engrams or at least 3oCs for real money (the most likely if CoD's any hint).

Would that destroy whatever economy is in effect? Would that interfere with my experience? Years ago I'd rally against any such thing but nowadays I just don't have the moxie to care how somebody actually gets their shit. All the money in the world won't make them any better at playing the game. You can't 'pay' to beat me.

I dunno... I think I'm shifting on the matter.

It's for social pressure. Come on bro, play with us, just buy the thing to get up to 25, it'll be fine.

Destiny has proven to be a pain in the arse to actually play with the people I would play with. Loot games need to get over their preciousness. Diablo 3 just fudges the numbers so that people can just get on with playing with someone else regardless. Destiny runs it too rigid like an MMO, which doesn't work for me. I can't cyber in Destiny so it's the work of an MMO without the perks.

Destiny has turned many an e-friend sour. Seriously, I stopped playing with a good amount of people on XB1 because either A) they were Destiny elitist (aka dicks who talked down to you during raid instead of helping you understand the goal) or B) "friends" would start favoring whoever is playing over playing with actual friends.

Cant tell you how often some of my close buddies IRL would talk shit about a guy they played with on Destiny, but when I set up a time I could be on to raid with the crew, surprise surprise, my spot was taken by that same guy so long as they could get their loot.

Yeah. I fall into category B here. Had a group of guys I used to play with. The majority stopped played. 2 guys took a break but will probably be back on. But I got one guy who pretty much defected to another guy's clan and didn't even bother to ask me to come along.

SRL is fun. Keep leveling up and you get some 300 helmets to bring you over Light 300 threshold. Then you can (hopefully) start getting the 300 engrams to drop.


Only have done the Oryx fight on King's Fall. This was when everybody was getting their feet wet and the average completion time was about 2 hours. Now, you can probably blast through it in under an hour if you're lucky.

The fuck don't they just put in matchmaking? People already doing raids with randoms through all these sites. Why not cut out the middleman, and just add it.

When you get the 5 guys who have never done the raid, and you're the one guy who has multiple times, you better have some time set aside and play teacher.

What I would like to see is some sort of a lobby system set up in the tower. It's as close to matchmaking as you're gonna get, but you get to set up/create rooms with tee times and a list of activites and you can pick and choose.

How about increasing the drop rate on the strike specific gear, Bungie. Been trying to get my hands on a flayer cloak for a while now. No luck.

Valentine's Day event announced to start on February 9th and run for a week. It's basically 2 vs. 2 Crucible matches. With some special loot and tower decorations thrown in.

According to a report from Kotaku, Destiny 2 is currently rumored to have been delayed from its planned late 2016 release date.

Game's online match-making system is getting overhauled starting tomorrow.

Bungie admitted they made a mistake with the recent special event in regards to drop rates being too low so as an apology they are giving away free Ghost shells to players.

"We took a look at the data, and the number of Ghosts awarded has not been what we expected," wrote community manager David Dague via studio's official website on Friday.

To remedy this, Bungie plans to give away Ghost shells to players who have completed more than seven Crimson Doubles matches, so long as those matches aren't of the suicide pact variety.

Once you've done that, a shell should appear in the Postmaster's box sometime before February 23. For an opportunity to earn one, you'll need to participate before February 16's weekly reset.

How about Year 2 started great with TTK and fizzled out with no significant expansions like TDB or HoW all damn year. The holiday event thing is cute but Year 1's expansion every three months was clearly superior. The microtransaction supported event thing didn't pan out. And things are really dying now that D2 is being developed.

They should put those last two planned expansions together as their last big chapter (likely their big Fall update) and release it earlier. Bring back and expand sparrow racing. And update ALL of their strikes to the highest light level.

“The newest settings are more aggressive about keeping latency low than we’ve ever had in Destiny. Regardless of the playlist you prefer, you should be seeing high-quality matches.”

Damage Referee will also be applied “across the board” to assist the developer to “mitigate the effects that low-quality connections have on combat.”

Jumped back into this with drave yesterday. Got my shit pushed in doing a heroic strike at only 239 light level. I'm at 259 now tho.

Also some guy joined the party and talked about blowjobs for 20 minutes and then left. Very strange.
