I kid. Really fun show. Looks like Finn was fucked up at the end though so hopefully it's not a bad concussion or anything.

They actually came very close to getting the ref to mess up for real. Match later on has a ref counting up to 8 and almost tricked by the crowd to count 10.

WWE wouldn't care about NXT booking. It was the semi main in a Brock Lesnar show. There is a difference between 5am est and 3pm est. 3pm east is easily viewable in the EST. Most people would wait for the replay at 8pm for the Japan show.

Just got back from the show. What an insane show. Great. A little disappointed that there were no title changes but the quality on show was amazing. Finn vs Joe was fantastic...Joe works so stiff it adds to realism. Enjoyed both divas matches. They were both different kinds of matches.

Nxt is a totally different beast to WWE main roster and I love it.

It's been a great week overall in WWE.

Damn my sleep schedule. I caught parts... the tail end of Asuka's match/the Kharm-Nia Asuka confrontation, the entrances for the FBI vs Brain Busters (obvious sarcasm) match, bits and pieces of Baron Corbin, and I was aware that Joe vs Balor happened, as Joe was going for the tazmission. The rest of it I was sawing logs. Not out of boredom, but I sleep days and work nights. Gonna have to find a way to watch this tonight at work.

I guess I'm off from most everyone else. I thought this was a "meh" show. It would make a solid couple of weeks of TV, but for a "special" it was just kind of there. The matches were for the most part technically great, but, just felt kind of "there."

Better show than I was expecting

Asuka vs Emma
Thought this would be another one sided Asuka match, but ended up being a great back and forth match. Feel like the end bit with dana interfering one last time was unneeded. Should have just ended with the Asuka lock. Minor grievance though. Still a good match.

Enzo and Cass vs Tag Champs whose names I forgot.
k, so despite not knowing their names I'm starting to like these guys, and their whole "old school heel" gimmick. Glad they retained, but I feel like it was too clean. Enzo and Cass need to look stronger since it's their return. Feel like every match just consists of Enzo getting his shit kicked in for most of the match, before the hot tag and big finish. I know that's the obvious route, with Enzo being the small guy, but they should vary it up a bit sometimes.

Crews vs Corbin
Just ok. Not bad, but not really up to the standards nxt has set. Actually think corbin works best with other bruisers like joe and rhyno. Corbin needed the win, and I really hope they continue pushing the end of days. Would be a great gimmick for a guy to have a finisher that no one can kick out of. Dunno if it would work on the main roster, but it's perfect for nxt.

Baley vs Nia Jax
I'll be honest. This match surprised me. I thought it would be horrible, but I have to give Nia Jax credit. She may be limited due to her inexperience, but she works around it pretty well, and what she can do, she does well. Except for selling submissions. Waving your arm like a mental patient, not quite the best sell I've seen but hey, she's new. Anyway, a good underdog match that I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would. Very surprised Baley won. Thought for sure they were building up Nia Jax to be an unbeatable monster to serve to Asuka.

Balor vs Joe
Don't even have to talk about the match itself. Everyone knew going in it would be great, and it was. Surprised that once again the champ retained. Though I don't think this is the end of the feud. Can't tell if Joe was super gassed or just selling really well, toward the end. Leaning toward the former.

I'd prefer they not get moved up and get the Ascension treatment at this point. Love Enzo and Cass but until the main roster gets fixed for good, I fear what would happen to them. Probably a feud with New Day and then jobber status. Right now I just really wanna see them win the NXT tag titles.

Just started on a replay.

JESUS! Asuka vs Emma was STIFF AS SHIT(!!!) and pretty much a thing of goddamn simple beauty... and I don't just mean the ladies involved! Outside of slightly clumsy "screwjob" stuff, the match was fun to watch, and the finish was tremendous. Even better given I was awake/aware of it this time. I tuned in earlier as Asuka was getting her hand raised.

Also, dig Enzo's attire, as it is unique, adds movement, and pretty well fits his gimmick, but it seems like something that could potentially cause a botch/injury from someone getting caught in those straps from a pure, unlucky accident standpoint.

I put seeing NXT in Philly back in may as the 3rd coolest thing ive ever done related to wrestling behind goingbto WM29 and going to Starrcade when Goldberg lost, its definitely worth going if they come near you.

There is nothing bad to be said about this event. It was fucking phenomenal and even those who DIDN'T go over still "got over".

The crowd became annoying about halfway through, but I couldn't understand half the shit they were saying anyway so it didn't bother me too much.

Solid show, the writers/producers/whothefuckever for RAW should definitely look to NXT for inspiration on how to get it right.

Good show, but of all the Takeover events this has to be the weakest one. Might be coz it was in the UK but the card/roster just seemed pretty thin.

Off-topic, but NXT based: Do you think they will try and distance James Storm and Samoa Joe for awhile then put them in a feud?


They were 2 of my favorites in TNA and I think if they got Bobby Roode to come in it would be awesome.

No way. I appreciated the "different" card and talents showcased. All of the matches were still very solid and had great pacing. Holy shit @ Enzo getting murdered at the end of the tag match.

They could put on one helluva program, no doubt about it. I couldn't stand Joe for a long while. He seemed to do one or two moves and then pose with an angry face and repeat until the corner pummeling and muscle buster. He improved over time and I quite enjoy watching him in action. He is one helluva performer.

If Roode came in that would be even better. That guy has a natural asshole charisma to him and could EASILY become a monster heel given time. On the face side, if they reunited Beer Money to go up against Dash and Dawson for the titles, that would be a very entertaining feud to both hear and watch.

I look for both Roode and AJ Styles to show up on NXT at some point before they hang up their boots. I would LOVE to see an AJ Styles / Finn Balor feud.

I liked Asuka going into this show. I fucking love her now. That chick can go. Emma is absolutely delicious as well.

I like Enzo and Cass, but I really want to see Dash and Dawson have a good, lengthy run. They're the best team on the WWE roster outside of Jordan and Gable, who looks like their next feud, which I am pumped for. For anyone having trouble telling them apart...basically, the one that looks like his name should be Dash Wilder is actually Scott Dawson. Think about it.

Baron Corbin is growing on me. You can tell that he's trying hard to improve his overall game, and I think he's making great strides. I would have liked to have seen Crews a little more fired up going into the match, but whatever. I enjoyed it.

How can you not love Bayley? I mean, come on. She's the best.

Balor v. Joe was just titties. Balor just oozes charisma, almost to the point where they probably won't even be able to fuck it up on the main roster eventually.

can somebody explain this to me? I've seen, read and been told by a bunch of people about how good these two are or how much some people are into them. Last time I watched NXT, Jordan was just a body and not much else. Are they just "solid wrestlers" or does something else stand out etc?

People seem to be gay for Gable, and is a decent shot of charisma. Jordan does have "that look", though not much else. And from what I understand, they both have a decent amateur background. They could have a decent career provided they tweak their game as long as the tag division doesn't get stagnant or they get the nearly requisite breakup angle.

they play off each other extremely we'll in promos/interviews with gable as the goofier guy who is lightening up the more serious jordan. it's a nice dynamic. and they are both obviously great ring technicians with loads of chemistry as a team. they just feel like a really natural fit with tons of potential with some more experience.

Just gave this a watch.

Emma/Asuka - Sweet match, and Emma's sunglasses were very nice.

Tag Match - Also very good match. I do feel like Enzo/Cass are due a big win some day down the line, but for now I am glad Dash & Dawson kept the belts. They've been on a real roll, and I can't wait to see them go up against Jordan & Gable.

Corbin/Crews - Pretty indifferent to this match... wasn't "bad", but just struggle to care about Baron Corbin. Laughed at Crews entrance when he is "going super saiyan" and screaming at the top of his lungs, but all that happens are some weak-ass columns of steam slowly coming up.

Bayley/Jax - Very enjoyable "story". Thought Bayley was done for on more than one occasion, and to see her overcome the odds was aces. She is well on her way to becoming the female John Cena, and I like that.

Joe/Finn - Good match... felt kind of "drowsy" for a bit of it, so maybe I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have..... Feel like Finn Balor's Demon entrance is always missing a shot where they really show his back clearly. I mean, I know this time he had a jacket on, but other times too. You just spend the first few minutes of the match trying to see the detail on his back otherwise....


Overall a good show. Sure, it didn't have any "big moments", but they can't all have that. Got some good rassling and some good stories. That is all I need.
