Don't know why everyone is assuming Ryder will lose the title tomorrow.

Guy is a good worker, can talk, and is still pretty damn over with the crowd. See no reason why he can't hold it for at least a couple months.

I suppose it does reinforce the idea that anything can happen. It's like when the crowd went batshit crazy at the idea that Santino Marella might actually win the Royal Rumble.

What bothers me with Ryder's win is that I have no trust in the WWE that this will actually go anywhere.

Very true. This and the fact that, despite that I haven't watched any Raw/SD/PPVs since after last years Mania @ 31, I still followed the results and, until a few weeks ago hadn't heard of Ryder getting any kind of push at all that would make him "worthy" of the IC title.

Holy shit, on second viewing, they really cut/lowered the audio (especially the crowd mics but also the commentary mics) during Reign's entrance and even more so immediately after his victory. Such a significant drop I wasn't even really paying attention to it and I thought there was something wrong with my television.

This show was indicative of the problems that have been going on for the past year.

Solid if unspectacular ring work marred by batshit crazy booking. No idea what they were thinking in all but like two of the matches. Here's to hoping the real show, the Raw after Mania gives me a reason to care.

I paid for my first PPV in... well I dont know tbh, over 5 years. I am probably as casual as a casual fan gets now and my thoughts below...

- Loved the Ladder Match and really enjoyed Zach Ryder winning not really a fan of his specifically but it just felt like a good way to kick the show off. For some reason my PPV started here.

- I dont understand why Styles lost. I get that Jericho loses a lot at Mania but it just felt a bit silly for Styles to lose first up at Mania to a part time guy. I hope he goes onto something fast paced in ring wise now, maybe get him into one of the secondary title pictures.

- Ambrose vs. Lesnar was good but I cant help feel a trick was missed there. I was hoping Ambrose would either get the win or push Lesnar even further, beg for more of a beating and maybe end with Lesnar helping him up or something. Imagine Lesnar being so impressed by the crazy bastard he helped him up after all that. It almost feels like Shane O Mac got the story Ambrose should have. It feels like Taker and Shane used the storyline that could have really given Ambrose a longterm rub.

- Womens Championship, Best womens match I have ever seen. I havent watched a WWE womens match in years but if thats the standard now I am very impressed. I dont know why but I wanted Sasha to win, maybe it was the Eddie connection.

- Shane vs. Taker... I was underwhelmed. Maybe I missed something as an ex WCW mark who missed the Shane O Mac days. I was excited for him but the match just didnt do it for me.

- Good to see Cena, Is the Cena Sucks stuff on the level of Angles "You suck" chants now? Because the pop for him says people wanted to see him.

- Main Event... They got Reigns his pop, kudos WWE. I had my doubts in the few Raws I saw leading up and even during his intro, but they got him his win pop. One moan I do have is while HHH is trying to get over as a Heel (is he?) he needs to do away with the over the top entrances. Reigns while having an abundance of pyro felt very plain by comparison.

I enjoyed the show, I will probably buy again next year. Reading peoples take on the event I have to say I just dont agree with many of the complaints while I do have issue with some bits. Maybe its because I dont watch week in week out anymore so im less invested.

A lot of people have warmed up to Cena due to his excellent in ring work, and occasional spine tingling serious business cena promo.

I'd wager a large portion of the "cena sucks" chanters are only doing it because it's fun. I would, and I'm a big fan.

I'm a fan as well, have been most of the way along. Even got me banned for a while ha ha. The fact that the guy seems to be a genuine class act of a person helps I think.

Ended up watching it at a bar and the last thing I remember was Shanes spot. It was a fun Mania in the moment, but have no idea why they put the best two matches on first.

Well the way I see it is that while there may be some surprises that start something new at mania, for the most part it's the culmination of all the current angles.

The raw afterwards is about setting tne new status quo with fresh new angles and junk.

Just goes back to the age old question: Have the "good stuff" on the PPV or on the Raws to get people to watch the PPV?

No idea what the current business model is now that the Network has taken over traditional PPV "buys" but the main question still exists and can't be definitively answered.

So skipped through extended highlights to refresh my memory. Overall, not a great Mania, but I'd rank it higher than 27-31 for the show as a whole. The main event, bar HHH's entrance, was worse than all of those though. Wow.

I admittedly didn't watch the whole show but just from what I saw and checking the highlights I'd say this was the worst Mania since 27. Some good matches with really questionable booking and even when I was casually checking in I barely felt interested..

28 had two really good matches in Punk/Jericho and Cena/Rock with logical outcomes based on where the build was going, and Taker/HHH in HIAC made for a nice spectacle.

29 is always going to be tough for me to judge fairly because I was there and that automatically makes the entire show more enjoyable. But Punk/Taker was excellent and Rock/Cena was still a good match.

30 was just a fantastic show all around with a hot opener, one of the best battle royals I can remember, the biggest shock ending ever in Taker/Lesnar, and a hot main event that led to a bona fide Mania fairy tale ending.

31 far exceeded expectations, just about everything was good and Lesnar/Reigns had a far, far better match than I ever thought possible given how terrible the buildup to the event was.

So yeah, worst Mania since 27 sounds about right in my books. This show was still clearly better than that one.

Eh, I still say as a whole show, it was the second best WM since 25 behind 30. Think everything at least lived up to expectations, bat the main event which managed to limbo under that low bar.

I don't think the crowd was dead. I think they shut off the mics once Reigns won. The "pop" he got after the 3 count came out of nowhere and after that everything but his music sounded muffled.

I'm convinced they tried to mute\drown out the booing

The more I think about it, the more I really kind of wish Mark Henry won the Andre thing. Would have been good for a guy who has been pretty directionless, at his last Mania, then he could come out tomorrow on Raw and retire if he wanted to or w/e... nice "parting gift" for him, in his home state and all that stuff.

As much as I think it's great that Corbin got the win, I don't trust that they'll actually do anything with him? idk. Is he even being called up full-time to the roster?

It was acceptable enough, I don't think it felt special and I think the main events were lacking, but the undercard was a decent mixture of good matches and fun moments.

All in all, an OK Mania, but I was exhausted after watching it. It is way too long nowadays and I think the crowd was tired by the end too.

It is way too early for Reigns to be a multitime world champ main eventing Mania and the crowd let them know it. Just nowhere near ready.

Am in the Austin camp that he needs a heel run to find his personality and grow as a character, and with potential feuds this year with Ambrose, Cena, Lesnar, Orton, Rollins at least, now is as good a time as any to do it.

Sad to see folk in this thread dismiss the guys in LoN. Sheamus and Del Rio are guys you can rotate at the top of the card with no problem and I honestly believe that Rusev can be great. He has personality, charisma, is great in the ring and can be very funny when he wants to be.

LoN is destroying them and is the worst stable since the DOA/Los Bariquas days, and I hope last night was their comeuppance and dismissal. We could use those 3 back as singles guys if Barrett is gone.

Loved the show overall

Watching the main event was like watching a ship sink. Live crowd was just tired, angry, and awaiting the inevitable.

Only other gripe was that Shane was given Dean's story. They toned down the violence and cut time from the Street Fight to treat it as a "pre-show" to HIAC. Understood why it happened, but Lesnar/Ambrose could have stolen the show if WWE allowed it to. The "bring it on" spots and post-match standing ovation belonged to Dean, but it just didn't happen.

Ladder match was sick - Ryder wtf, but unreal spotfest with fresh things

Styles/Jericho were both great - have no problem with Y2J winning - awesome near falls

New Day/LON was fun, good card placement - loved the post-match stuff

Ambrose/Lesnar was about half as good as it could have been - very obvious WWE handcuffed these two - still a fun watch

Women killed it - amazing match and a great showing for everyone

HIAC was unique and fun - this felt like a match you wouldn't see anywhere else except WrestleMania - had a blast enjoying it in the crowd

Andre was very cool with Shaq, and glad Corbin won. Thought Joe would get the call up and victory, but this works as well.

Rock/Cena stuff was very fun

Main event was just wow. Boo
