I think no matter what happens Brock should come back and kick the shit out of roman reigns.

I don't get why people are counting Brock out.
I think Brock will shock the world with a monstrous return and a huge win. In fact I think its a bad idea on WWEs part because what if he decides after beating Hunt that he wants to be back in UFC full time? |

I think he's smart enough to use the leverage from the win to segue into more money from Vince. I imagine that if he beats Hunt, he'll be getting a/the World Title. Vince and Brock will be best buds for a while. When it comes time to re-negotiate that contract? That's when things might get shitty. But Brock's honestly probably better off just going out with a win and leaving on that high note and using that mystique to his advantage. If he isn't happy with WWE, I'm sure New Japan would gladly pay him as he works dates.

My ideal booking for SummerSlam, prior to all this draft stuff, was Brock beating Reigns at the show anyway. Brock's a big attraction, they have issues yet to be resolved and Brooklyn will be rabid looking for the head of Reigns. Maybe he puts up more of a fight than Cena did at SummerSlam two years ago, but Brock eventually wins the belt. You could still be building up Seth Rollins (I'd have had him beat Triple H at SummerSlam), but you'd also have John Cena back and arguably the best he's ever been as an overall performer. You could have Dean Ambrose with the Money in the Bank briefcase and Reigns looking for redemption. The Royal Rumble would be a very interesting PPV, where my favorite scenario is for Cena to win, challenge Brock at Mania, put his career on the line while The Shield fight in a Triple Threat with the MITB briefcase on the line. Reigns wins that, Cena beats Brock, Joe beats Orton or something, Joe challenges Cena at Payback, Cena barely retains, Reigns cashes in on Joe's damage, wins the title and has issues with basically everybody and is now a top heel. With the draft and the Brock fight, a lot of this gets thrown into chaos. Right now, I'm actually wondering if the best idea is to go with Brock vs. Rusev, regardless of the outcome, because Rusev isn't yet that important to the company, but facing Brock is still somewhat of a promotion for him. He can lose, get something, but ultimately Brock redeems himself or continues building his momentum. I guess Sheamus could fill this role too, but I'm a lot less excited for that match for some reason. It's possible Del Rio could be presented as legit in order to get Brock something back too. Ideally, Brock wins, talks shit about Samoans and then Joe comes out to confront him and Heyman talks Brock into walking off and not wanting a piece of Joe. Run Big Show vs. Samoa Joe at SummerSlam (or something like that), and have Joe win, but Brock attacks him after the match. |
