I wonder what the games would be like if they had more than a year in development?This game series is actually worse than Assassins Creed in their samey game releasing.

Engine would probably get a legit massive rehaul and not have stuff going as far back as the PS1 era.

Supposedly 2K Games wanted to take at least a year off when they got the license for that reason but the WWE refused to allow it to happen. Same for wanting to move it out of the holiday window one year for better sales and more dev time which the WWE also refused.

If I remember correctly, the WWE didn't want to lose out on the $20-$40 million in guaranteed money the license brings in each year regardless of sales.
