Sorry for the delay, stupid busy time of year.
Benoit for me. Easily in my top 5. Probably top 3. I could watch Benoit work for days on end. Benoits impact on the buisiness, while infamous, will probably outlast anyones in the form of drug testing and concusion protocals. May not be the lagacy you would want but you cant argue the impact. I'd also argue he broke the height barrier that 90% of the top guys today are able to enjoy now. |

Kevin Nash for me.
He just had more personality than those two and arguably a better worker. |

You're probably going to get a bit of revisionist history here, as people try to block out in their minds how great Benoit was, and now probably box his ring skill into the "good" category, and they probably consider Jericho a contemporary in that regard, just with more personality.
I would point to Benoit's work in Japan, his classics in WWE, and how he manages to galvanize the WWE audience behind him to the point where he was the rightful choice to headline WrestleMania XX -- the crowd willing to reject even Shawn Michaels for him at that point. Did the reign work? No. Did the WWE do their best to sabotage it? Quite frankly, yes. Was he ever that hot again? No. But Jericho has never been that hot. Maybe you can call him babyface #3, but I think the only time he's ever been a "World Champion" as a babyface was when he won the WCW Title from The Rock. Every other time has been him working heel. I think I am going to go with Jericho, because I feel that overall his work is going to have the legacy attached to it of being from one of the best. As much as I love Jericho, I think he is missing something. Maybe it's an ego to really go to town and make sure he carves out a niche as a top guy. He still should have won the 2012 Royal Rumble. Maybe it's that he's such a team player that I just can't see him as one of the all-time mega-stars of wrestling? |

I think it should be pointed out that, technically speaking -- from a pure in-ring perspective -- Chris Benoit is a much better hold-for-hold guy than Chris Jericho. And just about anybody. If the folks who were talking about how it's "better wrestler" and were trying to discount things like drawing power, mic skills, charisma, etc. vote for Jericho, you can pretty much consider them a hypocrite. I can see why you chose this now, Desty.

Fuck it, I'm going Benoit. Fuck ya'll. WrestleMania XX > WrestleMania X-8. Also, Benoit drew about as well as Triple H in 2000 when he was up against Rock.

Went with Jericho. Whilst Benoit was the better straight up ring technician, Jericho was no slouch in his technical skills either and I felt he was able to add some speed and acrobatics to his matches, particularly early in his career.
Can't complain with either result though, both fantastic wrestlers. |

Jericho.
Benoit was better in terms of in-rings skills but felt Jericho was better as an overall package. Jericho's longevity in terms of career also plays in his favor since some of his best work occurred after Benoit's death like Business Suit Era Jericho.

Jericho by far. He was every bit as entertaining in the ring, and he was leaps and bounds more entertaining on the mic. Benoit was cool and all (until he killed his family...) but he was never even in the same league as Jericho.

I enjoyed Benoit, but this is a real no-brainer.
It can be argued (and probably truthfully) that Benoit was the better "in ring", but Jericho's other qualities, and his overall body of work, just blow Benoit out of the water. |

Two of my top three of all time.
But Jericho would be #1, Benoit is either #2 or #3. So Jericho. |

Honestly, I'd much rather watch a Benoit match than a Jericho match/segment. And I never thought Benoit was uncharismatic either. He always had a certain vibe to him that always made me want to watch. It sucks what he did to his family, but we're just talking wrestling here.

He had a certain charisma to him, sure, but Jericho had a ton more. I just never got quite as hyped seeing Benoit whereas Jericho always got me excited to watch wrestling.

Meh, to each their own I suppose. I never got that sort of feeling watching Benoit. I always thought he was cool, but Jericho felt more like an international superstar to me. Benoit was always just that badass wrestler.

There are so many ways to approach this one.
I went with Jericho because he is a Jack of stats moreso than Benoit IMO that said Benoit is one of the few small guys that can believably take a big guy apart he came across as that big a badass he was just vicious. |

Jericho was a showman, but Benoit's charisma made it Benoit & Jericho and not Jericho & Benoit.

That 2004 push for Benoit while Jericho's only real main event success came as a heel tells you a lot too. Well, Jericho arguably should have been pushed higher as a babyface in 2000/2001, but there's always been something that just isn't as believable as Benoit scrapping with the main eventers.

I'm a fan of both (being Canadian, I kinda have to be) and actually prefer Benoit, but Jericho is the better wrestler overall. Had the whole "Benoit thing" not gone down, maybe this result would have a bit closer, but Jericho gets the nod for me.

If Benoit were still around today, I guarantee you he'd be a bigger deal, because his charisma would stand out.

If Benoit were around today he'd be pushing 50 so honestly he'd either be retired or a very seldomly seen part-timer. Although I'm assuming you meant if he'd come up in today's WWE and was in his prime now which I'd agree with. A badass submission machine that is legit a badass submission machine? Today's fans would eat that shit up. That said I think if you gave the same scenario to Jericho he'd be an even bigger deal. I think you'd be looking at a CM Punk and Daniel Bryan thing all over again with Jericho being the CM Punk to Benoit's DB.

Just an FYI I'm not comparing those guys in any way. DB and Benoit were two completely different characters that weren't even remotely similar save for their reputations for technical wrestling. I'm just saying that we'd probably be looking at Jericho as the overall more "talented" of the two the same way most people look at CM Punk as being overall more talented than DB. Benoit would probably be portrayed far more as an underdog than we remember too because if they were in today's WWE he wouldn't have been roided up and as a result would have probably been far smaller.

Dude, Bryan was better in-ring, sure, but better all around? I'm sorry, but I find that statement laughable. Punk was one of the most charismatic people to come up in the last decade. He was a master of backstage politics, and he sold himself as being a top guy better than almost anyone of his era. I mean, hell, the dude was literally the hottest act in wrestling for a while, and people were still chanting his name for well over a year after he left. Hell, they still do. He's one of the few guys that you can legit say put butts in seats. Now DB did that too, don't get me wrong, but had Punk not left DB would have never gotten that chance.

You could legitimately say everything you said about Punk but about Bryan, except Bryan's matches were almost always more exciting, and although Punk is the better "talker," outside of a couple of great promos it counted for nothing. Bryan managed to start a movement around his charisma.
