The WWE Universe needs to be introduced to what that character is. I've heard the term broken, but I have no idea what that entails or why Matt is broken in the first place (is it because he's on drugs? Still upset about Lita? Damaged from bumps? Ran out of hair dye?). I don't think you can book assuming the majority of your audience watches the other junk wrestling promotions out there. Give them time to tell the story if it's a worthwhile gimmick.

Yep, the crowd has absolutely no idea about anything outside of the WWE bubble, and that's why they chanted "DELETE" and played on the use of "OBSOLETE" from that Rollins promo. There is no such thing as the internet, word of mouth, or, you know, the possibility of people watching more than one product.

Just because Vince thinks that way doesn't mean ALL of the fans who attend live events/watching their show does. Especially with the influx of ways to absorb such outside knowledge. This is the same line of thinking that persists about "internet fans = basement dwelling, neckbeard, virgin, lifeless tape traders" when internet access is LITERALLY in everyone's pocket. It isn't the same atmosphere anymore. If someone doesn't know why the other people are chanting "DELETE", all they have to do is spend about two minutes whipping their phone/tablet out and Googling "hardy delete".

If done right, people could get the gist of the #BROKEN stuff without having to relegate the two back where they were in about 1998 first; with Jeff getting over by taking his shirt off and jumping down from tall things and Matt just being there. Not everything needs a reset button for the dummies in the back. There wasn't a need to revisit Gallows being a slobbering mushbrain until the bell rang to re-introduce him with Anderson. They :gasp: acknowledged them as a pre-existing tag team!:gasp: From another promotion! :gasp: That isn't WWE!!! They documented that they had a relationship with AJ instead of pretending nobody knows about Bullet Club... another thing that exists outside of WWE. Really, this head-in-sand, contrarian viewpoint you present doesn't hold water.

It likely has more to do with the lawsuit nonsense- avoiding anything overt for the time being (ironically similar to "The Adventures of Cody and The Missing Surname", where he has legal entanglements with WWE on where and how he can use his last name) We'll see if the elements that make up #BROKEN Matt takes a turn if that clears up sometime soon. "Fuck that owl".

I have no idea why anyone is chanting everything except from a few things I read on this site. It would be 100% smart to break Matt on WWE tv but do it really quickly. That way everyone is introduced to the character and Matt can go from there.

Do you think the makeup of the Mania week crowd is representative of the average crowd you will see in mid May? The average WWE fan would have no clue what TNA is, nevermind know what WWE castaways were doing while there.
