And yeah, I get the whole India thing etc... Still doesn't make it entertaining.

I would argue for a lot of people, given the far more rapid decline in TV numbers than other shows. RAW, for example, is a boring show, where very little unpredictable things happen.
Seeing Lesnar/Goldberg at Mania made me sad. Two genuine stars clashing for 6 minutes, one was 50...but they were stars and it was great. I am not excited about seeing Jinder Mahal clash with anyone. It is a step down an already disappointing rung of the ladder. |

The fact is, the network is the worst thing that could happen to the product, not the business. Now they can throw Jinder in a world title programme with no momentum or build and just say "nine, ninety nineeeeee maggggleeeeeee" and it is ok. They don't have to push PPV anymore so they can shovel out any crap with no effort. "It's only 9.99 and that's worth it for the content that is already on there alone!" Lazy writing and routine booking will remain forever, because the more hardcore fans they pick up around the world, the more stable they become as a business and the less they have to try. That's the truth of it, and also the reason I don't have the network anymore personally. The network is the final nail in the coffin of stars in wrestling...and that sucks. |
