According to the Observer, WWE currently has Jinder Mahal penciled in to be a long term star for the company. Current WWE reign also penciled in to last for a while as well. There were rumors about an India tour later this year but at the moment, WWE doesn't have one scheduled.

If Mahal keeps the belt after the July 4th show or next ppv, he will break the current streak of no champion since Styles being able to successful defend the belt at a ppv or special show.

From previous reports and speculation that leaned towards the view of Jinder push being not something thought as long term or big star making by the WWE. Not just the Observer had similar views about Jinder's push.

His push also coincided with Impact's upcoming India tour and WWE likely wanting to steal as much focus away from it and Impact's attempt to grow their market.

I'll give Wade Adams a bit of credit: He is one of the few workers in the local indy fed who has the decency to wear actual boots in the ring, as opposed to kickpads over wrestling shoes (It's kind of a pet peeve of mine). On the Downside, for a wrestler whose gimmick is he's from Canada, he has a very distinct Southern Accent. Can't be perfect, though. Meh.

Other note: Austin Idol feels like a forgotten legend. Without him, there'd be now Hulkamania as we know it.

Give Jinder a chance. Not sure why everyone is so surprised by this. He was in the finals of the tournament to crown the first NXT champion, so it's not like they haven't had high hopes for him before. Sure his jobber work was whatever, but look at the man now. He's differently motivated. He was FIRED from this company not too long ago, and now he sits atop it as champion. He has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. I think Jinder is going to be awesome. I'll at least be looking at it.

Apparently Billy Corgan's attempt to buy NWA hit a big snag and all because someone forgot to check to see if NWA trademarks were still active during talks.
