Andre was never a great wrestler per se but he didn't need to be - he was a true spectacle and got eyes on the product with his presence alone.

Slaughter wasn't anything special and just rode the wave of a bland patriotic gimmick.

Andre wasn't a great wrestler in the last stage of his career. Before that he was quite good.
