It's been documented. Lawler had an obsession with his age and held down numerous young talent like the Fabulous Ones and Brian Christopher. He also destroyed Jimmy Valiant's push in the early 80's when Jimmy was passing him as the number one face.

Terry Funk is literally better in every way, including announcing. Plus he's given more back to wrestling than probably any other wrestler in history.

That just means he's smart. Protecting his position. Funk shoulda been more like that and he wouldnt have to keep retiring and coming back to rassle as an old fart
