Yeah, that's the thing with shit like this. It reminds me of when I used to deliberately write shit short stories in high school thinking I was a bad-ass like a Chuck Palanuik or something. It's called 15-year-old boy syndrome, and it's frowned upon in every single art form you can find, because people usually grow up and see it for what it is.

Doing something to intentionally be bad is actually just bad. If you've got it in you to do something good, do something good instead. Stuff like The Room and John Waters' old campy movies got over because they weren't trying to be bad. It's a rule of camp that there's a sincerity to it. The thing is that the WWE has the largest budget in the world, so there's no way this can be kids trying to get over in the backyard sincerely. These are grown-ass men with arrested development.

I think this Broken stuff says something about the state of wrestling. I really do. When someone shits in your mouth and you think it tastes good, what have you been eating all this time? If wrestling were good then people wouldn't be marking out for someone taking the piss out of it and doing everything they can to make it look as bad as it can to be "different" and "refreshing."

But that's the thing, there is sincerity to it. The original parts of this until after the contract signing weren't played for laughs, it was done with total seriousness.

After that, they knew it was shit and leant into it, but because the roots are in this awful, but hilarious character, that still has come out.

I've not watched the Raw segment yet, but I get your point as to why this can't be pulled off within the confines of WWE and I totally agree with you there. This needs dramatic drone shots of House Hardy and be filmed using handheld cameras with outtakes left in such as Matt trying to roll out the ring in that contract signing video. They need to just give Matt an end goal and permission to film 10 minute segments. With how bad the rest of Raw is, it won't bring down the average quality no matter what he sends in.

And let's be honest, nothing he does can be as bad as that nonsensical copycat Wyatt Family/New Day segment they tried to pull on the heels of this stuff.

I appreciate what you're trying to say, but nope. It's just a case of nope. You are right in that Raw is painful, so it may not hurt. But it will not help unless it does draw in 15-year-old boys who don't spend any money and won't stick around.
