Word documents to PDF

Anyone have any idea how to do this without having to sell my soul to Adobe?

I've got 300 pages of text and I don't want to typeset by hand.

Download OpenOffice. It has a built in "Export to PDF" option.

There are also some plugins floating around that put a fake printer in your printers dialog and that can be used to export to a PDF from any application.
