Kane first publicly announced that he was “seriously considering” running for the mayoral seat in May of 2016. He won the Republican primary on May 1 of this year by just 24 votes.
Kane got over 48k votes while his opponent Haney only got over 24k votes with 96% of the precincts reported in so far.

I'm happy for Kane, he seems like a geniunly nice guy and his career in the WWE/WWF wasn't as good as it could have been as I think WWE messed up a lot of opportunities. Hopefully he gets to do something he enjoys now and he deserves a good retirement as a public figure. It looks like he wants to do some good things for society, even if I don't agree with his political views.
