I was listening to SCG Radio’s rebooking the draft in 2002. It got me thinking, the bad timing of how they treated Booker might have actually been the best time to re-build him. Flair could have drafted him to SmackDown (Flair should have been on SmackDown) and either him or Arn give Booker a pep-talk about not having to fight against a system on their show, and instead being the Booker they know can carry the strap. After Rock and the nWo, he could have been the #3 draft pick for them. Rock was leaving and Booker could have saved him from an nWo beat-down and been the man on Smackers.

Eddie Guerrero could have been treated well there too, and then you’ve got two babyfaces who have an appeal to certain demographics. Eddie and Rey used to be draws for Hispanic audiences in network television, while Booker could have been the same for poorer kids who didn’t have access to cable. Make SmackDown the less “bourgie” show, as the kids say.
