Doubt its an actual Vince directive since for the most part WWE is pretty much hands off on how talent handle social media. They probably are quietly approving his antics though since its proving in their eyes that he's a staunch defender of the company and won't bite the hand that feeds.

He's done stuff similar to this before in social media but usually just jumped in when others were on the attack.

On the Nash thing, though (not necessarily about him)... is it really such an apples to apples comparison? I mean, we live in a time where it doesn't matter who the champ is because the product by and large is ass. We could concieveably have a hypothetical "Austin 3:16" moment pissed away and forgotten inside of a month because of bad booking, shitty script writing, manic camerawork, and half-empty, dead sounding arenas.

There is a difference between people not caring about the current champ, and not caring who the champion even is because it doesn't matter since you've succeeded in making most of your roster appear not nearly as special as they should be?

That's kinda not what I meant. No angles or progression. Just the initially corny and very, very, VERY annoying gimmick, and... poof. Now, he's just there. Nearly every former NXT Champion is just there. Almost everyone is just... there. And any time they start getting any semblance of something good coming along (like, think about how bananas it would have been if Samoa Joe had beaten Brock Lesnar for the title instead of being killed dead with a single F5 in the center of the ring and then dropped down the card) they stop it in its tracks.

There's multiple reasons why an Austin wouldn't happen again: correct time and place being chief among them, but I think the point isn't so much of finding that calibur of talent as it is being able to capitalize on if something that golden came their way again. Downplaying how popular CM Punk was. Trying to sidestep Daniel Bryan. Looking completely beyond the Ryder Revolution (which, ironically, was the thing that made the company look at "this internet thing" a little closer instead of just continuing to run with the perjorative assumption it's a total of like twelve neckbeards in basements as opposed to most of the audience carrying a thing in their pockets that has access). Also, even if "Austin 3:16" happened today, he'd be jobbed out for the next month, disappear from TV, and that would be that (assuming he wasn't in the proverbial doghouse for going off script). Confiscate all the signs. Prob'ly not have even made any shirts. Fuck that guy and his plain black trunks. Gotta find a new Hogan.

So, back to what I was saying: if Dolph had beat Kofi at the PPV, would you really care? I mean, they've spent so much time telling everyone by actions over the years that these guys aren't worth much to invest fandom into, so did it really matter? Even throwing out the PPV match wasn't the greatest (unfortunate, I've stated my opinion on those two before) it still should have been more notable: two BIG STARS mixing it up. They could have injected anyone into that match and had THEM win it and there would still be this feeling of apathy that isn't really correctly indicative of any of the talent involved themselves, but a symptom of the treatment of most of the roster as a whole.

WWE is like The Simpsons to me at this point, even if it suddenly started to be good again I wouldn't care because it's been not good for so long. I have a couple of certain time period of it that I look at fondly and just want to move on with my life at this point.m

Seth's tweets are certainly irritating (considering his position in the company). It's one thing to be proud of your workplace and another to be completely delusional. The way he condescended Ospreay didn't sit well with me either. "little guy", "buddy", and suggesting to "compare bank statements" was kinda disgusting. Is he trying a bit too hard to be the "company man"?

I think xrod, like STD is tired of the hyperbole on the internet of how amazing AEW is going.

Problem is, that hyperbole doesn’t exist on tpww. People are excited for a new big budget alternative, but no one is saying they’re going to kill wwe. No one here even wants that. Except maybe noid. And there’s been plenty of criticism towards AEW and some of their decisions.

It's fine to criticize WWE for the Saudi deal. It's shitty. I don't know what talent making the trip has to do with Omega's comments.

Meltzer wants an alternative like anyone else. He's a fan too. He's obviously rooting for AEW to succeed, but why wouldn't he? Is anything he's shared factually inaccurate? I mean, I don't like the way he conflated the international buys with domestic buys to make AEW look more successful on PPV than ECW without clarifying that context, but it's not like his numbers were wrong or anything.

You can call it whatever you want, but I call it biased.

I call foul regardless of what wrestling company said wrestlers works for. That is the difference. Non WWE fanboys are just as bad as WWE fanboys. It's just at the current time, non WWE fanboys are pressing WAY harder.

Seth Rollins gets vilified for finally talking some trash back. Kenny Omega whines about why does WWE have to try and compete with us after that is all AEW has tried to do from jump street.

He tries to play the Saudi card, while working for a guy who has done some pretty bad things to lower class workers he employed. And as an EVP, he employees at least 4 people that I can think of who have taken that exact same "blood money" he is trying to use as a defense for WWE broadcasting a freaking Evolve show.

Hypocrisy.

Being mad at me for having the nerve to call out a non WWE wrestler. Like I said, I call that biased.
