Overall I think SummerSlam was a better show than WrestleMania 35 was.

None of the matches tonight invoked the special feeling Kofi vs. Bryan had though. Need some time to really think but still feel like leaning towards SummerSlam being better overall than TakeOver Toronto was. It didn't have any serious duds for matches nor huge swings in match quality. |

I watched Takeover a second time and thought it was better the second time. I think Takeover was still better, but it was really close.

NXT can be hit-or-miss in terms of building things to a TakeOver but they set the bar high for TakeOvers and almost always delivery in terms of quality. Felt Toronto didn't met those expectations and not because the show itself was terrible. Meanwhile WWE was way more miss than hit with SummerSlam's build but I had really low expectations going in. Felt SummerSlam managed to met those expectations due to the show itself being pretty enjoyable to watch despite lacking the highs of TakeOver the night before. In terms of SummerSlam and TakeOver history, would put both shows more towards the middle of the list based on overall quality and entertainment. |

I think they absolutely nailed it. They are getting on a pretty solid roll right now, here's hoping they can keep it up. |

This will be one of the more forgettable Summerslams in like the last 10 years. The Fiend stuff was cool but if they fuck up his character no ones gonna remember it 5 years from now. Had an opportunity for a memorable match with Kofi/Orton but the dumb countout finish ruined it. No one will care about Brock/Seth 6 months from now let alone way into the future. flat out nothing of major significance happened |
