Agree with the slow burn on the MJF/Cody thing but I think it'd be better for Cody to turn on MJF.

He wouldn't be a sympathetic babyface. It's not Cody betraying him either. Neither is actually turning and I don't think MJF needs to cost Cody something to have heat for them to have a match.

He's a dick to Cody's wife, dog, and friends eventually Cody will get sick of it and tell him off. Then MJF can unload on Cody. I just don't think MJF needs to turn on Cody to get heat.
