Yeah. As much as I liked their debut, the parity is gonna be a problem. There’s gonna be a 7 team tournament to decide the first tag champs and every match is gonna be “close”. Because every match seems to have to be “close”. And that’s a fucking terrible idea.

I disagree.

A lot of matches in AEW will be 'competitive' not close, which is a very New Japan thing. People lose matches in New Japan but still come out looking strong bc it comes off as more competitive and that they lost today bc the other wrestler was 'the better man'...this time.

If it’s always “this time” though, then what’s the point? If everyone is main event level then there isn’t really a main event. You need midcarders for there to be main eventers, lower carders for there to be midcarders, etc.

Let's give it a few weeks. I see the point you are trying to make but AEW is "giving the guys a chance" in these early shows. You have to to build the records. After a few weeks and the records are more developed, we will see a more defined top middle and undercard.
