Lol I still think about how fucking awful that ending was in hindsight. If it symbolized his retirement, it would have been fine. Instead, a WrestleMania ended with Taker dramatically leaving his clothes in the middle of the ring for no reason. The creative clusterfuck that is WWE writing is like nothing the world has ever seen.

tbf Taker probably thought he was done too, he didn't appear for a year before he got offered to work an unscheduled 2 minute match with Cena to ostensibly end his career with a win in the city he lost the Streak

and then the Saudis backed a truck full of money up to his house

Oh, I’m not knocking Taker for any of that. He’s just doing his job. I’m knocking WWE for not having any fucking idea what the very basic, 3-year-old’s idea of “storytelling” is.
