I don't know exactly how long Jeff has on his contract, but I'm guessing that was the first step in their plan to devalue him on his way out.

5 years ago Vince would have wanted to get him hot and make some money with his last run before having him out somebody over on his way out.

Now, Vince will pay him the last 10 months or so of his contract and have him put over EVERYBODY on his way out.
