I have nothing wrong with the angles themselves, my problem lies with him constantly complaining about things a company had him do going back 6 years, but then doing the same kind of stuff he supposedly hates in the new company he says is so great.

The only reason I have to think he is being hypocritical is because of who he says and does.

It's not just him, but he is the example someone else brought up.

Well considering the slime happened to Rollins and not Ambrose, it shouldn't really apply to the comparison of Moxley.

I would however say Rollins getting slimed was just as goofy as Jericho getting hit with a gimmicked glass bottle that broke before even making contact with his head.

Not exactly, but in that example yes.

Using Moxley as the example again, what exactly is his character? Answer is, he is a former WWE star, made famous by them, who says he is so much better than WWE let him be.

But howso? The only thing different is now he talks about how he is better than WWE let him be. Other than talking about it, and being allowed to use more props, he is the same guy.

I said it a while back, I mostly enjoy the 2 hours of Dynamite, but it is the rest of the week where everything they do as a company is just to me, a detriment to putting out an enjoyable product.

Instead of thinking nice swerve on Jericho, because of Moxley himself, I think "I thought he hated all that goofy shit, how is this any different?" and that makes it less enjoyable to me.

It's the phrase "if he could just get out of his own way" that is the perfect description of how I view AEW.

How about this. Do you think that MAYBE Ambrose simply doesn’t think a storyline swerve (INVOLVING A CAR! OH THE SILLINESS! ), a bottle accidentally breaking too early and using gimmicked tables in a fight are on par with the silliness of slime, poop jokes and talking about how he drove a unicycle backwards to the arena because he’s WACKY?

Even if you’re befuddled by there being a huge fucking difference between those things, can you at least wrap your head around the idea that Ambrose DOES see the difference and therefore isn’t being hypocritical?

This is the biggest cop-out load of shit. Some people are just wrong. They are. Deal with it. Some things are not opinion. It's not an opinion that AEW has a niche audience. It's not an opinion that most wrestling fans would rather watch SmackDown than Dynamite. It isn't an opinion that this show stops and starts stories and programs just like WWE. It also isn't opinion that it violates basic rules of booking all the time. Stop trying to make things that aren't subjective dissolve into this giant haze of "hmm."

Cunts don't like it on here, because it implies they have bad taste, and no one wants to be accused of having bad taste, so they arch their backs and hiss and cry rivers because someone doesn't follow suite, but AEW is bad fucking wrestling. If you like it, that's on you, but don't tell me it's fucking good and that we're both right.

I used to think that. xrod was ready to shit on it way from the start. But he turned out to be mostly right, man. He's much closer to being right than Smeat or slik are with their Meltzer maths or Twitter chambers. I honestly don't read everything he's said, because I don't really expect engaging discourse from this forum anymore. You are one of a few good posters left.

In this particular instance, re: Mox: I think he's a fucking hack. I think he's got an extremely high opinion on himself and has continuously shat the bed outside maybe some half-decent things with Rollins before his ill-advised heel turn. But I think his whole shtick is try-hard and obnoxious. It appeals to little boys who think that being moody is cool in 2020. The hardcore shit is so fucking cringe too. Left to his own devices, he has been Wacky Dean Ambrose to me, only with this air of "Look! He's good now!" around it, because modern fans are fucking stupid.

Does he think he's doing avant garde shit? I'm sure. But it's not. And it is basically the same as his WWE shtick. It's a good reason to bust AEW's balls, as far as I'm concerned.

The dude literally cut a promo where he said "I'm kidding" as the punchline. If that isn't WWE, I don't know what is.

But how anyone can defend this promotion after "Weenies" being used as an insult is beyond me. Isn't that exactly the sort of shit you wanted to get away from in WWE?

No, because he himself has not framed it that way ONCE in the 18 months he has been talking about it. No discussions of levels of goofy, no specific line in the sand. The only thing he said he refused to do wasn't because it was "too goofy", it was because it was in very poor taste.

In his own words, he doesn't like goofy shit. That encompasses anything goofy. He has had 18 months to clarify that doing goofy thing A is stupid, and goofy thing B is not.

Since he has not, just by going off of his own words, he is being hypocritical.

I don't know the "rules of booking". Definitely not into it at that level. If something on is entertaining, I'll watch, if not, I'll switch. I find WWE stale as fook but okay sometimes, I find AEW okay sometimes. This is why neither company gets money from me.

Moxley probably actually believes that what he is doing now isn't goofy, he probably actually believes that he is doing a completely different character. But in my opinion, he is wrong.

Exactly, and I don't care one bit if people are or are not enjoying Moxley's work. Maybe some people here do make posts trying to change people's minds into hating AEW. That is not me, I just posted that I myself think Moxley is being hypocritical by continuing to talk about WWE, but still does things he claimed to hate.

Nowhere have I told anybody not to watch AEW or not to enjoy AEW, or anything else. When I post here, I'm posting my opinion, I'm not trying to dissuade anybody from watching or enjoying anything.
