I bought a guide to learn the moves at home, and would go to the local arcade to try it out. Never did well in the arcade. Had time to learn on SNES and played it TONS. Even had Killer Cuts, lol. I remember Eyedol being cheap AF sometimes, and that seemed like the biggest flaw for me. The longer combos were hard to learn, but NOT impossible, which I think was key to enjoyment. Love me some KI.

Killer Cuts was boss. Video game soundtracks for sale should have really been a much bigger deal back then considering how some of the most memorable music came from that era. I can't speak for anyone else but out of the modern era of gaming, the Halo series is the only one off the top of my head where I can instantly recognize a track.
