They HEAVILY teased at him making an appearance, at the very least. The same way they always tease stuff, with HEAVY foreshadowing, etc. To boot, VKM himself was involved in "the skits". They were making a very big deal about the entire segment throughout the night, literally for naught.

It was 25 years since The Rock debuted. They did a Battle Royal dedicated to him and probably showed a bit of footage. I don’t know what people expected. I mean, I COULD have seen a video promo, but eh. Everyone knows he’s not going to come in and risk injury when it comes to film schedule by now.

If you actually watched it, you'd understand. I get the 25 year thing, but it could have simply been on RAW, or you know, the show they named after him.....
But instead, they teased for 3.5 hours at a possibility of him even being on-screen. It is easy to see why people feel misled. Buuuuuuuuuut, you didn't watch it and believed a post here that he showed up, so why am I even bothering. |

I’m responding to poorly phrased posts on here acting like The Rock was coming back, apologist. Blame the poor quality of TPWW. I didn’t even watch the show and would have placed money on him not coming back.

Of course I didn’t watch it. I don’t think I’ve watched a WWE PPV in full for years. Why would I waste time and money on that? But there are reasonable criticisms and insane criticisms. Anyone expecting The Rock to come back and set up something with Roman Reigns was always kidding themselves. It’s easier to be misled by people making Rock references at the end of a show and then complaining then it was into thinking Rock is actually going to come back. This really is ludicrous. |

The Vince McMahon egg storyline is brilliant. Got so many people talking. And apparently it made them a massive payday from Netflix. As Vince McMahon strengthens his relationship with the largest streaming service in the world.

Yes, I’d totally believe TPWW shitting all over a Rock return before I’d believe The Rock actually returned, lol. That’s how nuts this place is. |

Occasionally you get some great insight from Destor and Gertner, some fun WCW Deep Cut tweets and tidbits from Gerty, and some reasonable points from xrod, but this place is devoid of anything else nutritious.

Lol at Bryan Alvarez complaining about 107 minutes of wrestling on a single show. That’s almost definitely way too much. A big problem with modern products is that there is too much of the same thing and over and over again. It’s a white noise problem.
It’s like his weird complaint about rematches. Everyone works the same in most promotions. So who gives a fuck if Wrestler A is working Wrestler C or Wrestler B again? |

Noid: lol you guys complain even when getting the rock back!
*finds out the rock didn’t show up, outing himself as an idiot who decided to make a matter of fact statement without bother to reading the results * Also noid: haha you see i knew he wouldn’t be there but because i was responding to a poorly written post, it LOOKS like I was saying he came back but really I was saying something completely different. Brilliant series of responses from the guy who clearly didn’t even read results before shooting off nonsense. |

If you tease it enough the live crowd is under the impression he's appearing (WWE's not particularly subtle) and begin chanting his name during the main-event, and then the live crowd boos when the show goes off the air and he doesn't appear, I mean...

Roman Reigns is part of the family. People have been speculating about The Rock coming back at Survivor Series for the longest time. The reason it can’t happen is because The Rock hurting himself during a wrestling match is going to delay filming and cost production companies millions upon millions of dollars. I don’t know how else to explain it to people. But there are still people who are CONVINCED this whole Roman story is supposed to lead to a match with Rock down the line. It doesn’t surprise me fans in the crowd were going for it. Nor does it surprise me that TPWW was going for it. I don’t know what you want from this company when it comes to highlighting The Rock and special events and simultaneously promoting Roman Reigns in the best light possible. Not highlighting Rock is insane. Backing away from this Roman story is insane. People just want to bash this company. And I get that — I was there for many years (and called out for it because I didn’t get it and just wanted to ruin people’s fun apparently…my, how things change). But saying “Hey, did you know The Rock debuted with us 25 years ago, here’s a match in his honor, here are some clips” is promising people a return. It’s not like Roman Reigns called out any member of his family to dare step out of line at Survivor Series and they went out of their way to downplay Rock’s history there to imply it would be him, did they? This is just like people finding whatever reason they can to shit over WWE for signing talent, for firing talent, for wanting to increase their profit margin as a publicly traded business. There are legitimate things to pick apart, but The Rock not being there when they never said he would be is just being silly and destructive because you want to be. Did WWE actually imply that The Rock was going to be at Survivor Series? Especially considering they are “not subtle?” |

Yeah, because I’m not wasting my time on the show. I got wrong information from the deadest forum in the IWC. Whoops, shame on me.
It’s not like this place wouldn’t complain if The Rock came back either. So I’m not feeling any sort of shame or regret for assuming that TPWW is the embarrassment here. Soz, bitch. |

And only on TPWW can you have people blast an entire show and then try to make you look like an idiot for not watching it because you didn’t think you’d enjoy it.
It was probably better than Full Gear, but wrestling has done so much to numb my interest that I’m going to take some accounts of events second-hand. I’m not a fucking journalist, cunts. I like talking shit about something I used to enjoy on the internet. And those desperate enough to try and catch me in some “Gotcha!” can keep kicking that stone uphill. |

Actually, it’s a large part of the entire IWC. I used to hate that term, because it seemed generalizing and reductive, but it does seem to be more and more appropriate. There’s this hive mentality towards certain things. “Fed=Bad” for example.

So? How much of those posts are me saying shit like “Fuck this sucks” and responding to apologists like #fan? I still make an effort to post here, but I think anyone sincere would see how my optimism for wrestling has fucking died, clearly I don’t follow the product like I used to and that for a dude who would have posted the most once upon a time (most likely), I’ve scaled way the fuck back.
Turns out everyone else has too. |
