I saw that Battle Royal they did and it was terrible. Hammerstone sucks.

I have no doubt the WWE does stuff in this vein. I think something is going on with the Anthem/New Japan deal to landlock AEW (WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS???). But I think the smarter executives at WWE know how to go about this in a “legal” way. It’s going to be hard to prove that WWE was that heavily involved in decision-making processes and it’s not just an executive talking out her ass to make MLW feel better because they sort of bombed on VICE, Tubi was just holding out for a better deal, etc.
Feels like a crapshoot on MLW’s part, where they really wanted the money from those deals, don’t have it, and feel like the quickest way to get some cash flow is to settle with the WWE. They may be perfectly right or perfectly wrong in the scenario. I’m thinking about that time they sold “War Games” to WWE and it probably made them more money than promoting their actual War Games. |

With the New Japan/Anthem/WWE stuff, it’s going to be hard to prove whether it was spurred on by WWE’s muscle, Anthem wanting AXS to have a higher profile, or even Bushiroad seeing the opportunity to cultivate better exposure for themselves, and just what is “conditional” and what just happens to shake out of the tree.
I would actually think that the WWE would want to see MLW propped up a bit. Just so they can compete with AEW for all the free agents, so there isn’t some unified “Not WWE” force against them. I don’t think they particularly care who is #2, #3 or #4. The issue with AEW being such a clear #2 is that they are willing to work with everyone (at least for a time). If something is going on with WWE, Impact and New Japan, it’ll be interesting to see where that leaves an MLW, and whether or not taking this fight to the WWE is a little bit them trying to get into bed with AEW and get something cooking with WarnerMedia since the WWE side of things is drying up. |

I saw someone on twitter say MLW's lawyers are former Trump lawyers, so if that's true, I guess they didn't cheap out on legal services (even though they notoriously cheap out on paying talent).

Way more money in shaking down other companies than promoting wrestling. Well, I think that’s their risk assessment, whether or not it pans out to be beneficial for them.

Imagining MLW being represented in court by Rudy Giuliani and Lin Wood.

Giuliani farts miss opening statement but being the seasoned veteran he is doesn’t miss a beat as he wipes running hair dye from his eyes
