Gimmick and attire updates are already covered by CC. Why would anyone pay for official releases of that stuff when the created content looks just as good?

I just don't think there's enough money to be made, to match what they get from annual releases.

It's the same problem with sports titles. It should be a 20 dollar update every year. But as long as so many people are willing to pay $60, why would they?

To a point. You’re always limited with hairstyles, no update to music, entrances, etc. I’m not even really saying in place of an annual release, I can see the business case for yearly releases.

It's not like this sort of thing isn't already done either. This is a pretty neat scam.
