And it kind of really killed the vibe I thought, buried the match and potentially the PPV.

I think a better build would have been for MJF to fucking RESPOND and leave Mox covered in blood to build back his credibility. Or maybe Mox does the opposite and actually builds MJF as a credible challenger leading into the PPV.
It’s obviously a way to make people think MJF is LAZY and NOT A VERY GOOD WRESTLER so it’s an awesome surprise with lots of heat when he wins the title.
