**Rate the Music: Week 13**
Yay, we're here. It's the month of May, which is the month that houses my birthday, so it brings me great joy to kick off M-A-G Month here this week! Over the course of the four weeks that make up May, each edition of Rate the Music will be covering a select track from some of my favorite franchises. It could be anything! Sure, that's really not that much different from how things usually go, but this time there's more of me! You get to taste my flavor!

Speaking of taste, how did last week's Fight Against Smithy fare? Here is the score....


One-Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - 8.71
Aquatic Ambience (Donkey Kong Country) - 8.66
At Doom's Gate (Doom) - 8.375
Guile Stage Theme (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo) - 8.25
Bloody Tears (Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest) - 7.85
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog) - 7.72
Fight Against Smithy (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars) - 7.2
Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved) - 7.125

Big Apple, 3AM (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Turtles in Time) - 6.16

A 7.2 is well above average. I thought it'd shoot to the top of the charts, but that shows what I know. Finding stuff out about each other is what this series is about...like the last one I did.

So, what's next? Well, I already explained that earlier when I started this. This week, one of my favorite IPs, despite fading from the spotlight over time, has been the first-person free running showcase that is Mirror's Edge. It's got a lot going for it to hook me, in my opinion. The gameplay is certainly unique, and those graphics and art style make it the best-looking game of that generation, in my opinion.

And then there's the music. I have the entire soundtrack, and while I can chill to almost anything, I feel the theme song really spells out what you're in for with the first game. So here's "Still Alive" from Mirror's Edge!





Sure, there is a version with lyrics, but I've been avoiding doing those kinds of songs. I think I'm already asking enough from you all as it is without adding something like that to the pile. Anyway, that's the song and now you rate it. Here's to three more weeks of the (hopefully) really good shit.



No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes...

I really do love this soundtrack. This song in particular is my ringtone for all normal, non-contacts calls on my phone. It's just so relaxing. Not as much as the one on the menu screen, though. I can't go higher than 8, though.
