An update on the competition, I found out yesterday that the PSP will be retailing for 179.99

It's from Sony, so yes. Everything will probably be sold seperately, then no longer be supported.

that's what frightens me.

Well, not frightens me, but that's what causes my apprehension.

I wonder what's been cut to keep the "actual" cost down.
