Wireless router.
The only way I can play PS2 online is if I shut down my computer and plug the internet connection, plug it back in and then run the PS2. I just bought a wireless router. I can't seem to set that up for some reason. Do I have to run the internet through an ethernet connection? And if so, how? Anyone know this?

I'll assume you're using a DSL Modem
Use an Ethernet Cable from the modem into the 'WAN' or 'INTERNET' socket at the back of your router (should be seperate from the others) Plug your computer into one of the other ports of the router with an ethernet cable, and do the same with your PS2. The wireless aspect is mainly for laptops with wireless ethernet cards, so if you have a wireless-laptop and need help with it just post... otherwise, after you've done this you have to enter your user name/password and other configurations on the router.. to do that go into the computer hooked up to the router and look in the manual to see what ip you enter into IE. Something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, and set everything up from there. Also on your PS2 network card set up, you wont have to put a user name and password since it will already be on the router.. and your computer should also be connected automatically since the password is on the router. Routers are a beautiful thing ![]() hope that helps. |
