The NBA PlayOffs
All I can say is FINALLY.
This is going to be intense. Naturally, I am going for the Spurs but I especially love the Houston/Dallas match up. Texas represent. Also, I want to see the Nets get whooped on by Miami. Fuck Vince Carter. What match ups are you guys looking forward to the most? |

As far as first round match ups I think San Antonio-Denver will be the best.
Definetly wanna see the Nets blow up. I'm hoping for blowout wins for Miami in games 1 and 2. Then Vince blames Kidd in the post game press conference. Kidd refuses to pass to Carter in game 3 which they get blown out in again. Carter fakes an injury in the first 5 minutes of game 4, Nets win 3 straight. Carter comes back in game 7 and the Nets lose. |

How can you pick Phoenix?
![]() Sure, they have the best record but the Spurs won the season series against Phoenix. |

Houston/Dallas the best match up probably. I will pick Dallas. I like the Kings/Sonics too i hope seattle wins but sactown's playoff experience will probably push them over.

I'm looking forward to the Nugs/Spurs match-up(if TD is even slightly hurting, the Nugs could pull that out) and the Mavs/Rockets match-up.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
(1) Miami (8) New Jersey This will go seven, but mainly because Shaq is hobbled. Also, because nothing he's done in the last few month has shwon that VC is anything but a little bitch who will quit at the first sign of presure. (4) Chicago (5) Washington Washington. w/Curry and Deng, I'd take the Bulls. But they have no size now and Hughes and Arenas shut people down defensively. (3) Boston (6) Indiana Boston. O'Neal isn't healthy and w/o Artest they have no one who can stop Pierce and Davis. This goes 7, Pierce averages like 28 a game, and the C's advance (2) Detroit (7) Philadelphia Detroit. My only comment is this: CWebb is a fag. WESTERN CONFERENCE (1) Phoenix (8) Memphis Suns. not really close either, unless Mike Miller goes on one of those tears like Chuck Person in '91. (4) Dallas (5) Houston The Mavs are more athletic and physical than they were last year. Plus, they have an angry, 7" tall German guy who can score from anywhere on the floor. Anywhere. That helps...I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Mavs win it all this year. (3) Seattle (6) Sacramento Seattle. I love Mike Bibby, but he doesn't have enough to drag the rest of these idiots into the second round. Doesn't matter though, because whoever advance gets swept in Round 2. (2) San Antonio (7) Denver This has 'upset' written all over it. TD is gimpy, the Spurs traded or released a lot of the guys who did the dirty work down low, the Nugs can throw 4 quality big men at Duncan, Carmelo can post Bowen up at will, the Spurs are a little soft (OK..actually its just Tony Parker that's soft) and Andre miller has been lights out in the second half. Two of these games are going to come down to "who makes the last shot?" If Melo steps up and shows that hes not just a scorer but an actual NBA suoerstar- and stars come through in the clutch- then the Nugs win this series and the Spurs have t seriously reevaluate this team's future. My guess: Nugs in six. |

Did anybody see the sign in the crowd at the Palace this afternoon that said:
Ben? Rasheed? Prince? Rip? Billups? Too Many Questions For Just One Answer Pretty much sums up this four-game series right there. The Sixers looked good in the first, but that Detroit defense is just too damned good. I really don't think anyone, except maybe the Spurs, can take the O'Brien Trophy from them this year. |

Spurs with a hobbling Timmy are better than the majority of the teams out there. Yeah Spurs and Denver will be a good matchup but Melo and Nene will be magicians and show off their disappearing act in the playoffs. Dallas will win in 6. Seattle will probably sweep the fully stocked but shooting blanks Kings. Phoenix will lose one game to Memphis but it will be horrible and all the Grizzlies will have to be shooting lights out. I give them one, but thats stretching it. Spurs are tough and are just playing possum, Manu and TP are awesome together and Glenn Robinson is coming more and more into his own here. Nazzy is also doing what he needs to and everyone in San Antonio will take and AILING Mohammed with 10 points than a healthy Malik Rose giving us 3 points. Spurs are gonna do it. East will be close in the EAST, once it gets to the Finals they have no chance. Not even Detroit or Miami.

Also, I was just thinking about when Rasheed Wallace talked about how "We're the champs until somebody beats us" in reference to the World Heavyweight Title belts he bought for all of his teammates. Well, I got to thinking, what if the NBA Title was defended like wrestling titles? Well, I'm a dork, so here's this year's NBA Title History:
#1 Detroit Pistons - Defeated L.A. Lakers - 2004 NBA Finals #2 Toronto Raptors - Beat Pistons 101-89 - 11/5/04 #3 Sacramento Kings - Beat Raptors 108-92 - 11/9/04 #4 Seattle Sonics - Beat Kings 108-78 - 11/10/04 #5 Boston Celtics - Beat Sonics 102-83 - 11/21/04 #6 Indiana Pacers - Beat Celtics 106-96 - 11/23/04 #7 Seattle Sonics (2) - Beat Pacers 103-95 - 11/28/04 #8 Portland Blazers - Beat Sonics 100-94 - 11/30/04 #9 Seattle Sonics (3) - Beat Blazers 99-89 - 12/4/04 #10 Boston Celtics (2) - Beat Sonics 98-84 - 12/11/04 #11 Denver Nuggets - Beat Celtics 100-99 - 12/15/04 #12 Miami Heat - Beat Nuggets 107-100 - 12/17/04 #13 Seattle Sonics (4) - Beat Heat 108-98 - 1/9/05 #14 Los Angeles Clippers - Beat Sonics 103-92 - 1/12/05 #15 Sacramento Kings (2) - Beat Clippers 99-95 - 1/15/05 #16 - San Antonio Spurs - Beat Kings 103-73 - 1/23/05 #17 - Portland Blazers (2) - Beat Spurs 107-99 - 1/24/05 #18 - Dallas Mavericks - Beat Blazers 95-88 - 1/26/05 #19 - Philadelphia 76ers - Beat Mavericks 93-89 - 1/29/05 #20 - Houston Rockets - Beat Sixers 118-95 - 2/2/05 #21 - Seattle Sonics (5) - Beat Rockets 87-85 - 2/22/05 #22 - Milwaukee Bucks - Beat Sonics 99-73 - 2/27/05 #23 - Philadelphia 76ers (2) - Beat Bucks 118-111 - 3/1/05 #24 - New Jersey Nets - Beat Sixers 99-93 - 3/2/05 #25 - Miami Heat (2) - Beat Nets 106-90 - 3/3/05 #26 - Houston Rockets (2) - Beat Heat 84-82 - 3/22/05 #27 - San Antonio Spurs (2) - Beat Rockets 83-70 - 3/27/05 #28 - Denver Nuggets (2) - Beat Spurs 102-84 - 4/1/05 #29 - Houston Rockets (3) - Beat Nuggets 115-87 - 4/16/05 I know that doesn't prove anything except that I have way too much time on my hands. But it's odd to think of the Houston Rockets as the defending NBA Champions. It's also weird to think of the Sonics as the Triple H of the NBA. |

EASTERN CONFERENCE
(1) Miami (8) New Jersey I think NJ will take the series in a shocking surprise to everyone who predicted the Heat. The Nets have won 15 of 18 and with RJ in the lineup, the team is much improved. (4) Chicago (5) Washington Chicago, only because I like this young blood talent line-up and its good to see a former perennial playoff team back in the mix. I just wish the Knicks would take notes from the Bulls on how to rebuild a franchise. (3) Boston (6) Indiana Boston. I think the combo of Walker and Pierce will step up in the playoffs, but will "most likely" get eliminated in the next round. (2) Detroit (7) Philadelphia Detroit. Philly has not clicked all season, and I doubt they will now. WESTERN CONFERENCE (1) Phoenix (8) Memphis PHX. (4) Dallas (5) Houston Houston because the Rockets are on a hot streak. (3) Seattle (6) Sacramento Toss-up. I'm going with Sac though because they have the experience. (2) San Antonio (7) Denver A healthy Tim Duncan will take the Spurs to the Conference finals at the very least. |
