Did you try runnning in Safe Mode, or with limited resources? To do this go to Start -> msconfig. Go to "boot.ini" and select "/safeboot" with networking. Also in here you can toggle which programs start-up with windows. Restart your computer, and run your spyware program. I suggest Ad-Aware. Update the definition files. Close the program. Go bak intp msconfig and deselect the networking option so that you are restarting in standard Safe Mode. Restart, and then try to remove the junk.
