I personally think its ironic that Kofi's win brought Randy over to his brand.

Oh my God! The WWE Title match at Extreme Rules didn't happen! Instead, John Morrison and R-Truth had a dance-off in the Steel Cage to decide the true #2 Contender! Yay! I mean, I was interested in seeing that WWE Title match the commentators had been talking about for so long, but it was good to see John Morrison face conflict and reach a conclusion tonight!

I would love to see Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton interact on SmackDown!. I hope the WWE remembers the feud the two had on RAW. They could really start teasing something between them again.

Staggering posts. Just staggering. My head is broken and mangled from all of the brick-wall-running (that's an allusion to a metaphor pholks) and I was only reading for the most part. Send an ambulance to Ohio. I'm going to watch 24 (4realz)

Advertised by whom? The people inside the open storyline? Do you get this upset when a villain says he's going to kill Batman and then doesn't do it?

Using the 24 example from earlier:

Act I: Jack finds out there's a nuclear bomb somewhere in LA. The entire act is gathering clues to find the bomb.

Act II: Side plots involving secondary characters, all the while Jack gets closer to the bomb.

Act III: Jack figures out where the bomb is, rushes in to save the day... But there's no bomb. There was never a bomb. Not because a terrorist left a misleading message so he could blow something else up. There were just no bombs. Heh heh whoops. Roll credits.

After watching that, don't you wish they would have spent the first act of the episode dealing with something that was actually happening? Or do you think that first third of the show was worthwhile because in the end, LA doesn't blow up - even though he didn't actually do anything?

That's not a waste of time, that's a shitty story. A waste of time implies that the time could have been better used (assuming we'd all be watching these two hours of Raw no matter what. I think we all agree our time could be better spent than watching wrestling). So how could that time have been better spent?

You're still comparing apples and oranges, dude. John Cena wasn't FIGHTING the draft. The most positive thing you can actually say about this angle, truthfully, is by turning it and trying to present it as the real conflict of draft time -- Cena doesn't want to go to SmackDown!. That's not the story, but we'll run with it.

If you then cannot understand how this buries SmackDown! or how when Cena ends up on RAW it defeats the entire purpose of anything happening (thus being a waste of time), then I can't help you anymore. I'm wasting my time explaining it, actually.

I hope they do. It'd be incredible to see. I'd actually watch Smackdown again, even though they'd have Kofi job every time, because thats what they love to do with him.

I'm actually surprised they had him go over Sheamus FINALLY after like 2 years. But it was just for Randy to come over....lol.

there's nothing inherently more entertaining about any of those options

lemme ask you though, if Cena had cut a heart wrenching promo about how much he loved Raw and how he could never see himself leaving Raw because that's his home and they really really really pulled at your heartstrings, and Miz came out and shit all over Cena saying he'd never get his chance to face the Miz ever again, would you have been ok with the switch back to Raw at the end?

It would have been better. Still not crazy about the idea of using the "draft" episode to tell a story that involves using two picks on the same guy, but there's at least a coherent story there. And they sort of attempted that with the promo tonight, but I never felt like Cena was upset about the move. In fact, he seemed very excited about it.

That may come down to a fundamental issue with Cena never taking things seriously. But that's a conversation for another time. But overall that would have been a better use of that time.

I suppose I just didn't understand the point of the "drafted twice" angle. If they had done it to advance a storyline of some sort it would've been one thing, but the whole thing just kind of leaves the audience feeling like they were screwed out of a draft pick.

Even if they had played up The Miz constantly saying all night that he was finally done with Cena and that he'd never have to deal with him again, it would've been a better payoff at the end. If Miz just harassed him with it the whole night or something it would've been much more exciting when Cena got drafted back. It all just seemed like there was no real point to it.

lemme ask you though, if Cena had cut a heart wrenching promo about how much he loved Raw and how he could never see himself leaving Raw because that's his home and they really really really pulled at your heartstrings, and Miz came out and shit all over Cena saying he'd never get his chance to face the Miz ever again, would you have been ok with the switch back to Raw at the end?
No, because it achieves nothing. Maybe something like that could be done if they did the draft like they did in 2005. Cena is drafted to SmackDown! this week, and suddenly it becomes so much more important for Cena to win at Extreme Rules. The two scenarios for the PPV would seemingly then be either:

a) John Cena wins the WWE Title and Alberto Del Rio win the World Titles, and thus the big belts do a brand switch.

b) The Miz retains, taunts Cena, his heat increases, Cena has some heart-wrenching story of failure to redeem -- leading to the last week where Cena ends up back on RAW, and he gets another title shot against The Miz.

Or have Cena's team win the ME with Cena pinning Miz, have Miz brag that it doesn't matter cause after EC he never has to see hi,m again and then all of a sudden bam Miz is drafted to Smackdown, you run with that for a month or two and then put em back on Raw if you really need to.

Or don't draft him to SD in the first place one or the other. This angle was a giant excuse to have him on team SD in the night's main event. Waste.

FFS guys, stop acting like a bunch of fucking sooks. I can see Supreme's point, but he's being a total wank about it. And CSL is acting like the cool kid, sticking up for the other cool kid. Yes loopydate and Noid have their point of view which they're entitled to, and I can see where they're coming from also. This is a WEB FOURM which is where the IWC communicates.

Is it worth ruining a thread over? No.....

I'm shocked that an angle aimed at marks makes no sense to smarks.

Thumbs up

The best part of Raw was Punk and Del Rio making out after their win.

First wrestling I've watched since WM, I do love the draft, even the gimped version compared to the multi-week draft they used to have.
