Largely unnoticed, receiver Nate Burleson made one of the more amazing moves of training camp Tuesday morning. As the receivers group jogged to a drill, Burleson caught up to receiver Daryl Jones. Burleson put his hands on Jones' shoulders and then leapfrogged him as Jones stood straight. Burleson cleared the 5-9 Jones' head by at least a foot.

FUCK Madden giving him 88 jumping. GOD. Come on.

A+? Good Defense yeah, A+? If they're an A+ then that scale makes just about every team an A- or higher and a lot of teams A+.

Playoffs... ok, let's assume they won't win the division.

Let's for sake of argument give it to the Pats (although the Jets wouldn't shock me).

Let's say Pittburg, Indy and SD round out the division winners.

So, this means the Bills would need to be a Wild Card.

The Jets will get 1 spot

This all assumes healthy players, can't predict the injuries

So, that leaves one playoff spot.

Ravens, Bengels, Jaguars, Denver. Would be the top teams, and I just don't see the Bills finishing better then those. Plus I'd expect an improved Phins, Browns, Texans and Raiders.

So yeah, I don't see them making the playoffs.

But, anything is possible.

I loved one of the old N64 versions, you could move Tony Simmons to the #2 WR spot and I think run a Flag or an out/up and no one could ever catch him, I think I ran up 100pts in a 5min/qtr game just going to him.

ok, haven't found a link, but everyones been talking about some comment Ray Lewis made that the focus of the NFL shouldn't be on Owens walking out on his team, but on the Defending Superbowl Champions the Patriots.

Anyone hear this and have a link/quote?

No, don't see it anywhere.

But, pretty ish is the kicker from Kansas City being in some trouble with the police. Actually, I think KC has like 4 people with police problems lately. Tynes, Collins, and two defensive guys.

K here's the link

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns

Also, Pacman finally signs. 5 years 13.5 mil. Leaves Benson as the only one unsigned.

Gates has been given an "ultimatum" that if he doesn't end his holdout, he would be suspended for three games.

Dunno, the whole suspened thing carries some weight in the NFL, not just do they not get paid, I don't think it counts twords the eligibility.

There was talk Seymour could sit out 2/3 of the season and then come back for just enough games to get the year of eligibility, but there's also something about a suspension also doesn't allow to accrue years which leaves a player stuck w/o pay or free agency.

1) Bills defense is one of the best if not the best defenses in the league despite losing Williams. You've basically over analyzed the fact that i added a ( + ) , but whatever. Lets call them a ( A ) defense.

2) The Broncos, Bengals, Browns, Dolphins, Texans, and Raiders arent going to the playoffs. Are they a challenge? Maybe, but the Bills have a better team then all of them. The only team even close to the Bills ( Out of that group ) is the Bengals.

3) Im picking the Cheifs to win the West and i dont think the Chargers will do anything better then 8-8.

4) The Bills have a better team then the Jets. Losman being one of the weaker links compared to Pennington. Other then that. Bills WR > Jets, Bills Defense > Jets, Bills RB = Jets RB, Jets QB > Bills, Jets O-line > Bills , but imo. Bills will have the better record.

Antonio Gates could throw an absolute fit like TO right now and I would back him . I mean they wanna pay this guy 335k. I know he was a one year star, but comon. Mix in some incentive clauses or something. Round it to a million maybe. Make it look respectable. His extension should have been done after the playoffs.

Who says they didn't offer him something? Maybe he just didn't feel it was enough. The NFL is the only league (while I don't like it) I can understand a holdout, simply because the NFL doesn't have gaurenteed contracts so if a player sucks the team and cut them and their money (although they do keep the signing bonus).

It's gotta work both ways, if players are going to want more when they overperform, they should give it back when the underperform.

ROFL how is that anywhere ANYWHERE near what Owens has done? Fuck.

I hate when idiots keep trying to compare the two.

Moss may not be the most mature, but he is a team player. All he cares about is the win. He's not going to hold out after signing a contract. Or do any of the things Owens has done.

Yeah walking off the field is "caring about the win". He is a team player to a certain extent. Arguing with you QB and walking off the field is certainly not being a team player.

Moss has admitted to taking plays off, has walked off the fied during a game.

That's where the comparison comes in.

Bills defense was real good last season VEL - Not tops in the league or anything but they were real tough. Not saying they are a better team then the Jets because I really don't know yet but their D is real good.

Arguing with his QB? They were good friends, they talked shit back and forth.

Walking off the field? With 2 seconds left of an unwinnable game. And don't tell me there was a chance that the Vikings could have got the onside kick and then successfully thrown the hail mary. That's bullshit. The reason Moss left with 2 seconds left is because the team didn't want to win that game. They were discussing what they would do after the game, before Moss left. He got sick of it and left. I'd have done it too. So yes it was caring about the win. Rather, caring more about the loss than his teammates. Sometimes he had too much heart, but it was heart and it was in the right place.

As for "taking plays off," he also explained it thusly: First off, he's the best WR in the game, and is double or triple-covered on every play. He has to run a hell of a lot, just like any receiver, and his routes tend to be deeper than most. But here's what he said: When the team is in a position to win the game, he will go out there and play his hardest. But if the team is ineffective, they might as well throw him the ball. If they don't throw him the ball, and can't win the game, then why would he have to play? It makes sense to me. Put Randy Moss on any other team that has heart -- a team that WANTS to win games, unlike the Vikings from the last two seasons with their monumental collapses -- he will dominate, and fight as hard as they fight. But when the Vikings would be laughing and joking after a loss, come on. Pep and Moss were the only players with heart. Obviously, Moss has a funny way of showing it, and is immature. But it has never been about money for Moss. It's always been about the game. And THAT is why they should not be compared.

Answer me this: How many of Owens' teammates, present and past, speak kindly of him? Actually like/liked him? Because Moss took all of the young receivers in MN under his wing, taught them how to have fun, and led by example. He was reclusive from the press for good reason, but he always was a good teammate.

Matt Birk is just a big fat moron who blows everything out of proportion except for the fact that he hasn't been healthy in two years.

You're an idiot.

What has TO done? Aside from acting like a child. He's done nothing , but lay it on the line on the field. He isnt known for taking plays off. He's a very competitive personality on the field and from what i've seen, gives it 100%. He hasnt admitted to any drug use. He hasnt ran over a cop. He hasnt walked away from his team and off the field during a loss. He doesnt have a criminal past.

So what if Owens is holding out. Thats business. He deserves the money. He shouldnt act like a child, but thats besides the fact. He's gunna play. He's gunna go to the Pro Bowl and his teammates and the fans will love him when its all done.

I wasnt comparing the two. I didnt say Moss should be compared to Moss, but now that you brought the issue to the forfront. It wouldnt be such a horrible comparison at all. In fact i think Randy might just beat TO in the comparison in the long run.

Ofcourse i'd rather have Randy right now because of the TO issues, but in the long run. Once TO gets under his nice contract ( which i think he deserves ), he's gunna be the man in Philly.

Stop calling people idiots and being argumentive in every post, or atleast know what the fuck you're talking about when you do.

.

Well thats a truely sad story you just told us there. 51 other players on the team dont have heart and dont wanna win games? Wow.

You wanna know the difference between Randy Moss and the Vikings, and Hine Ward and the Steelers?

Randy Moss takes plays off when he knows he wont get ball, stands there looking like a jackass, and the Vikings dont make the playoffs.

When Hines Ward knows he wont get the ball. He gets his ass out there and throws game changing blocks to spring his other teamates loose and move the Steelers down the field. The Steelers win games and go far in the playoffs.

Fuck T.O. Fuck Moss. Give me Ward.

RP - I agree on that, but TO did also play injured and the superbowl and carried his team.

Moss has yet to show that, the whole "taking plays off" is crap, that's the job of a #1 WR sometimes to decoy the double team to get the ball.

Moss had speed and can jump, but can't and doesn't go accross the middle, maybe that changes now, maybe he will get a set of balls in Oakland. Also, TO's issues have all been about money, I don't remember TO trying to run down a meter maid.

Moss, has the ability to be the best WR in football, but he's not and he only has himself to blame.

I agree, but best in the league or enough to carry the team to a playoff spot, doesn't work.

But it's a long season so who knows. I just don't see it happening.

Well. Look no further then Steelers of last year. Great Defense and a great running game. Buffalo looks alot similiar.

Also, I'm just throwing this out here so dont jump my shit. I was listening to the radio and someone implied that Teddy Bruschi was on steroids and the caller pointed to the stroke he had , as an example.

I dont believe it, but this is the first time i've heard someone say this. I honestly never thought about it before. What do you think? Inform me .

I think the roids makers are usually a step ahead of the roid testers and it's possible every player in the league is on roids.

To hat extent, there is no info to suppport or deny that, so it's kinda a baselss claim. But anything is possible and nothing would shock me.

and yes, I see you're comparison to the Steelers, the biggest thing that keeps the Bills out of the playoff is their Division. Put them into another divison, they have a better shot, but 2 vs. NEP, 2 vs. NYJ and even 2 vs. Miami which I think they go 1-5 (split Miami) puts them in a big hole.
