So Battlefield is something to pop a boner about, but Dead Rising 3 is "by the numbers"? Makes perfect sense.

Battlefield 4 brings the full, 60fps, 64plyr Battlefield experience to consoles for the first time ever - on top of the most progressive control scheme and rewarding team and mechanics. The map altering Levolution is not just hype and really does alter the match in interesting ways, while still keeping the wholesale realtime destruction introduced in the Bad Company series. Stats and Premium upgrade carry over from previous/current gen so you can enter next gen with all your gear.

Dead Rising 3 brings nothing to the table in terms of its own franchise and also the hack-n-slash genre. More or less zombified Dynasty Warriors with a comedic horror bent, DR presented western tropes through a Japanese aesthetic as designed by Inafune himself. The deal was an arcady wacky experience that itself helped launch 360 way back when.

Here we are, game is presented 'grittier' and the gameplay moves toward Western sensibilities even more. It offers nothing to justify it being next gen other than being exclusive to a next gen console. The charm is lost (already faded by the Western developed Case Zero expansion), and the devs embarrassingly hype how many zombies can be on screen at once non-ironically like they solved some issue the series had.

Yeah, Battlefield on X1/PS4 is something to pop a boner about, and DR3 can get dusty on the used rack.

Your argument is essentially laughing at the aesthetic upgrade and higher number of moving parts on a screen Dead Rising devs are pushing...

...then tell me that the aesthetic upgrades (or..."levelolution") and higher number of moving parts on the screen (or...64 player battles) are something that makes Battlefield worth getting hyped about.

If Levolution, a gameplay changing feature, comes off as merely 'aesthetic' to you; and you consider 64plyrs 'moving parts', then I'm afraid you're being disingenuous. That's a ridiculous comparison straight out of Swiss' playbook. Don't do that.

I like PC Gaming, especially since I have a controller if I want to utilize that. I can't wait to lay some dough down on an official gaming PC.

My brother just dumped his gf and moved into my house again and he is getting the PS4, I will observe his actions on that part of the battle.

The Xbox One tests will have to come from some unsigned person I have yet to tag.

I was regretting not get PS4 at launch and selling it for profit but I see on Ebay they are going for about 450$ which is not a great profit margin.

But seriously, I like both. Real pity Split/Second and Ridge Racer Unbounded sold like shit as they were an awesome developer. NFS: Rivals looks OK, but that 30FPS lock kills me on racing games.

Got mine on Friday. Early days, but I'm quite liking it so far.

My worst issue is getting used to playing BF4 on the Dualshock 4 after so many hours of playing the last few games on a 360 controller. But I'll cope.

Yeah, not played it on PS4, but maxed out the PC version and it was gorgeous. Got the Wii U version cheap too and that probably plays the best. About the only game benefitted by a touchscreen.

According to Eurogamer, Gaikai services currently on track for a late 2014 release in North America while everyone else has to wait till 2015. As of right now, Sony doesn't know how the redemption process for PS3 games will be on for the PS4.

For those in Europe, Sony has temporarily disabled the ability to redeem codes on PSN as part of launch period stability concerns for PSN.
