Not anymore.

This game was already a bad purchase before all this new info dropped, but now I have no idea why someone would pay $65 for this instead of putting the money towards a PS4 or Xbox One.

Because they'd still have to buy the game and the system. New modes rarely come as advertised. No harm in waiting a year to get the kinks out.

Hope this is bs. I've already put 14 NXT themes on my Xbox ahead of time for this. Found a Vaudevillians theme with the old timey announcer introduction too.

Ambrose's rebound lariat is in. Looks like shit though. Hopefully better on current gen. On the bright side there is a GREAT new stunner in the game.

Supposedly there is going to be a ton of coverage on current gen this week, and on Friday they'll be rolling out details for their new creation/customization suite that will feature "something fans have wanted for years".

There was also an interview Rollins did and he said when he was scanned they stripped him all the way down to his undies. Kinda funny since his Shield attire is in the game.

Makes me wonder if we somehow are finally getting a No Mercy-style editor for guys on the current roster. So you could change everybody's attire and shit. If that happened it would cancel out basically every other negative I've heard about the game.

That is something fans have wanted for years, though I can't see it being as deep and complex as the CAW attire system. Probably a more limited version, but something that allows for more than just changing attire colors.

Yeah, it'll be far from perfect the first year - but better than nothing. Might finally explain seeing a rather spot on Ambrose in a tanktop and jeans, as he apparently DOESN'T have a Superstar Head in CAW mode after all.

But being able to make some basic changes to attires would be nice.

If there is an editor, I'd assume you can't edit face, hair, physique, height, weight, etc. as all of that was scanned. But maybe they have X amount of shirts, gloves, trunks, tights, pants, boots, etc. to pick from so you can at least change that up.

Even if you can't take his mask off, putting Kane in his corporate gear would be hilarious.

WWE didn't want it delayed beyond a certain amount of time. A 2 week delay for the next-gen versions still kept it within the pre-Black Friday date range.

Also, for anyone who has heard the rumor of not being able to create your own brands and shows in this year's Universe Mode, it has been confirmed as bullshit. You can have your own feds just like previous years.

Mine came today for PS3, seeing Sheamus ranked better than Stone Cold, it has made me miserable and sad.

In fairness the DLC does look good so will be getting that (I love they didn't go an obvious route for the storylines, would of been so easy to do Rock vs Austin rather than Orton vs Christian for example)

Doesn't look like this game has a very long shelf life or re-play value.

I have no problem with 'same gameplay as last year' because I liked last year. Wanted more legends in it tho, having retro characters (especially guys like Punk, who haven't been in the WWE a decade) take up their own slot is lame.

The models are too complex for a simple N64 t-shirt change. It's not just an outfit. It's the facials, the hair and body morphing.

Last iteration I played (13) would have something like a DX version of HHH from the 90s and current day. They have different stats, entrances, etc.

It would probably be better as "attire change" rather than an entire character slot.

So....

Here's the question: The latest wrestling game I had was WWE 13 for the Wii. I just bought an XBox 360 because they were less than 100 dollars. I like creating stories and wrestlers. I play through the Universe on occasions. The accelerator intrigues me because I don't like doing the wrestling single campaign, but I want all the things unlocked.

Should I just go and get 2K14 and wait, or should I go ahead and stick with my original plan of getting 2K15 when the price drops.

Keep in mind, I won't get the XBox One until they totally stop making quality games for it. I only play Wrestling, Lego games, and occasionally a random SSX or Ghostbusters....

Listing what you did, it would seem that it comes down to how current of a roster you want. That is the only noticeable difference between 2k14 and 15. 2k14 was the only WWE game in recent memory that I skipped. I felt that the new animation system they used felt..... weird.

It is better for the overall feel of the modes. Triple H at his current state facing HBK in Hell in the Cell would look stupid.

Only Cenas model didn't change that much.

Last two games had Attitude Era spotlight and WrestleMania matches spotlights. Every character had differnet models if they were in matches in the modes for changing facials, hair, clothes, etc if there was signigicant changes in what they looked like.

Ric Flair Vs. Macho Man at WM8 would look weird if Macho's Model looked like he did in 1987.

You can't even alter the attire of wrestlers fully in any of the games. You can only change the color of the stuff they are already wearing.

I get what you're saying, STD, but to me that's not a huge issue. I would rather have more options in terms of characters and movesets than play with two versions of the same person. That's why it seems like a waste to have them in their slots when an extra attire would serve the same purpose (I'm pretty sure with current gen systems this can be achieved just as well without creating a "new person.")

It's awful and a pain in the arse in modes like Universe.

What makes it worse is some legends have been dropped for 'retro' replicas of current roster ppl.

For those interested, newlegacyinc is hosting a WWE 2k15 midnight release stream for the last gen version tonight (Xbox 360) and then Nov. 18th for the current gen version (PS4). Might help sway some decisions about getting or not getting the game.

If its like the past few years, probably starts around 12:30-45 EST unless any of them got an early copy.

If what IGN says it accurate, I'll stick to the original plan. Get '14 and get whatever DLC content I can along with the accelerator. Then either get 15 when the price drops or start saving up for the XBOne and the games that I want for it or low enough for me to get all at once.

Also, unless you're one of the bigger names, there's no guarantee your stuff is going to get downloaded, so for some folks, even if they have a neat arena idea or concept, if they don't advertise it on one of the various websites, they won't get that limit increased.
