Why is Crosby a piece of shit, for pushing off on Lundqvist. It was he that came over to Crosby after the whistle to get in his face. Did Sidney dive? Yup. Drew the penalty too. Lundqvuist didn't like it because it was so obvious but is that why he a piece of shit?

What am I gonna say "Anyone see Crosby tap Lundqvist after he took a dive," that sounds retarded. I haven't been keeping up with hockey like I used to so anybody wanna let me know why the Canadiens let Laraque go halfway through a season? The 'the team asked him to stay away for the rest of the season' line I read sounds pretty ominous.

Depends on the situation since Avery vs Brodeur a few years ago had Brodeur shove Avery due to Avery "cheap" tactic of interfering with Brodeur in the crease. Lundqvist only went to Crosby to confront him verbally about him "diving" to get a cheap call but Crosby got upset and shoved him.

Now had Lundqvist hit Crosby without talking, then he wouldn't be off limits for starting the fight.

I remember back in the days. When a goalie left his crease, he was OK to hit or check. Roy, Richter, Hextall, Smith, they all took some pretty good checks back in the days, and they hit back when they weren't happy. Today's goalies hide behind that "don't touch the goalie" crap. I'm not saying "punch the goalies". Just that they should expect to get hit if they leave their safe zone.

As far as diving and whining goes, even some of the greatest players in the game dove and used to whine from time to time. Gretzky, Lemieux, Forsberg. Ovechkin doesn't dive, but he cheap shots and knees people from time to time. That too has been around for a long time. Stevens, Messier, all of these guys used to do that too. It's hockey.

I love watching the Capitals play. They are so fast and exciting, really haven't seen a team play like this since the Pens in the 90s with Lemieux & Jags and they even look a bit like the Oilers in the 80s. If my "teams" don't make the playoffs (which it looks like the Flames might not), I think I will root for them to win. Ovie definitely deserves it this year

Horrible call since it was a shot to the head and made even worse with the impact onto the ice. If this was a stick to the head, NHL would suspend without a doubt but they are like the NFL and ignore calls to improve head safety/hits.

Don't even see why they are going to wait for an off-season meeting when they have changed the rules in the middle of a playoff series when it involved goalies getting blocked or pushed in the crease (Avery vs Brodeur).

He shouldn't have been suspended because his didn't break any rules. It wasn't an elbow, it wasn't a charge and it wasn't interference. You can't suspend Cooke for breaking a rule that doesn't exist.
