Remember when Jason Garrett was the interim HC of the Cowboys and was clearly going to be named permanent head coach but the Cowboys were forced to bring in a blatantly token minority guy for a pointless interview just to fulfill the Rooney Rule? I'm sure that guy loved only being interviewed because he was black.

Interviewing somebody specifically because of their skin color. I dunno, sounds pretty racist to me.

I think Lovie Smith will be fine with a Coordinator's position or a year off from football. He's a great coach.

But this isn't about race, it's about the progression of the NFL. The league is becoming more and more offensive focused. With that much being understood, It's a logical choice to see teams hire Offensive Coordinators as Head Coaches. Now there are few, if any African American Offensive Coordinators in the NFL right now so the likelihood of seeing another 'unknown' head coaching hire be black, we're gonna wait a while. We won't see another black canidate until Kevin Sumlin is ready to leave Texas A&M

So Ray Lewis' career will end, one of their legendary players might go to New England, and they'll probably have to massively overpay for mediocre Joe Flacco. Looks like tomorrow will be the end of the Ravens as we know them. Get ready for several shitty years ahead.

As much as I like Ed Reed and would like to see him end his career in Baltimore, if he walks and goes to the pats, congratulations for over paying for an injury prone past his prime player. If the Ravens win the super bowl I honestly expect him to retire with ray Lewis and that would make an awesome duo to go in the hall of fame at the same time.

I also disagree with your assessment of the Ravens' future. The defense might not be as good as in years past but this years offense was the best in franchise history in just about every measurable statistic and s far as I know all the pieces will be returning. Peyton Manning is a Bronco, it's very rare that players get to retire with their original teams. The bigger question is: If Ed Reed wanted to come back, will Baltimore work to keep him? Did Ogden retire a Raven? Hmm...

Ogden played his entire 11 year career with the Ravens. I think that the Ravens will do everything within their power to bring ed reed back if he wants to come back, which is a debatable question on its own...but there would be a dollar figure at some point where they'd probably be realistic and tell him if he can get it somewhere else to go and take it. The bigger question would be whether there is a team that would overpay for him considering he's past his prime and playing injured..I doubt it.

LOL yeah, Nothing like trashing your player only to have them rip off some game changing plays.

Ozzie Newsome seems like he runs the player personnel department with a real 'old school' approach. I think if Reed wants to do the damn thing next year they will sit down and figure out a way to make it work. Of all the teams, they seem to want their heroes to retire in purple and black. Ogden, Ray Ray, and Reed all seem like they're gonna retire as ravens.

Speaking of Ogden...I seem to remember in ESPN NFL 2k5 that there was a glitch when you did a fantasy drafted franchise that led to all of the CPU teams using their best rated player as the return man, regardless of position.

This led to Jonathan Ogden: kick returner.

Well, I don't wish any ill will on Kapernick (he's frat)...but I'm not happy rooting for the Niners as they've doused the championship flames of the Bengals each time we've gone to the SuperBowl(Fuck you John Taylor).

I won't root for them, but no amount of insanity can lead anyone to believe that the Falcons have any real chance here.

Hope Atlanta channels all the mojo they can. Get Dion to come out and Do a Dance, Get Jamal Anderson out to do the Dirty Bird...hell even get Hammer to come out and sing 2Legit2Quit only to lose embarrasingly.

The Steelers are really close to finishing last behind the browns. I'd make that an official prediction but I'll wait til free agency/draft. Baring some major changes though, I can't see the Ravens not winning the division next year.

At the beginning of the playoffs I predicted either a Falcons/New England or an Atlanta/Ravens Super Bowl and I'm going to stick with that prediction. I'll go a step further in this thread and predict an Atlanta/Patriots Super Bowl for tomorrow.
